More importantly the Italian federation is launching a TCR championship next year.

Good to see 'classic' Subaru paintjob
Any other livery would have been wrong, tbh.

I thought they had one at present or are they pushing for an entirely separate occasion?

Now TCR is a class within CITE, what they talked about for 2016 is a proper standalone championship

Interesting that the inventor of Tecpro barriers is on the entry list this weekend.

Germany gets their own TCR Series, run by the ADAC and Engstler Motorsport as "ADAC TCR Germany": http://www.motorsport-magazin.com/mo...h-deutschland/

It's going to be its own series, with no links to ADAC Procar, which I find a bit unfortunate, especially since Procar seems to have gotten their act together. Still, it's good to see a TCR series here and hopefully Opel and VW will help to promote the series in Germany a bit. I don't expect it to challenge the DTM, but they could at least rise to STW-levels, in my opinion.

Great news, but the missing link with Procar is dissapointing. I guess we'll see that one dissapearing soon?

There's only one problem: The STW-slot is currently occupied by the - nowadays somewhat struggling - ADAC GT-Masters... A succesful TCR series might hurt GT-Masters just as much as it might hurt Procar.

Actually not. Procar's prospects seem to be fine going into 2016. They'll add a new secondary class for next year and have enough teams interested in entering the series next year. New manufacturers are also rumoured.

I think it could hurt the GT Masters more than Procar, given that GT3 has seen a cost explosion, while Procar's relatively fresh regulations haven't. I mean, former GT Masters team owners like Hans Reiter have expressed interest in TCR, so I assume that there are potential entries by former GT Masters teams.

In my opinion it would be more logical to add TCR class to Procar.
Or do they expect to have 15 or more cars in it's first season? Seems unlikely to me.

I enjoyed the first race from Singapore, very entertaining and much better than the earlier rounds that i saw.

Great to see the Subaru finally got on track after its awful journey.

Race 2 was enjoyable, a little spread out at the front but some decent battles down the field. Shame to see the Subaru retire but was running really well before that.

The rear isn't its strongest point, true, but from this 3/4 frontal angle I think it's good looking.

That's weird. I thought the TCR regs meant you "had" to get manufacturer support in building a car (including being capable of building multiple chassis as as supplier to other teams) to be able to introduce a marque to the championship.

Why would Suburu support Top Run without allowing them to use the logo ?

no requirement for manufacturer support. they just have to allow their model to be used.

the embarrassing Ford Focus is another demonstration of manaufacturer support not existing.

It was embarrassing in the hands of Onyx, but now that others are involved the ball seems to start rolling.

Fair enough. Although I thinks it's still a little open to interpretation

This helps

A car doesn't have to be developed by a manufacturer, this can be a independent tuner as well. However, as far as I know it was not allowed for manufacturers/developers to actually run the cars themselves, they have to be sold to teams who can run them. I think there are some exceptions made at the moment to get some cars on the grid, but I'm pretty sure that was the plan.
