Since its creation last year tcr europe grow up a lot so don't you think that being the second most impostant tcr championship (after wtcr) there should be more than 7 rounds during the year?

IMHO 10 rounds should be the right number and to the actual calendar i'd add BRNO (good track and good opportunity for those supporters of east europe drivers), DONINGTON PARK (great track and great supportes) and LE CASTELLET or PORTIMAO

Looking forward to seeing how he will perform against Mato and Dusan in the same team with the "same car".

Agree 10 rounds would be prefect. I would like to see one street race. Maybe on Norisring.
Damn I can't remember if there is any other street circuit in Europe that's currently in use.

You obviously believe the series will remain successful with 3 more rounds. Think of the increase in costs! You would certainly lose drivers and teams.

The costs are already too high... Danny Kroes will leave the series for GT Racing because of the costs. Danny's dad wrote a comment in the Official TCR Talk Group of TCR Guru saying that you need a budget of 300 k euro for a season in a smaller team, and 450-500 k in a winning car. Which is basically BTCC level costs, or even higher.

The signing of Files to Target also indicates for me, that we will not have a "big", somewhat manufacturer backed Honda team as we had last year anyway, I hope we will see Comini at least in a Honda.

I agree, I think that TCR Europe is good as it is. It's a series for indipendents basically, so 7 rounds is a good number and they raced on great circuits. It's better than WTCR for the tracks involved.

Guys motorsport is expensive also in kart! 3 more rounds I don't think would increase a lot the costs.

Yes, but as more and more manufacturer support is included and bigger budget teams get involved, so will smaller teams leave. As Mark Kroes said, racing at European GT3 level has similar costs, but is divided between more drivers, as 2-3 guys race in the same car.

M1RA basically will be the Hyundai "manufacturer" team, as Target probably too (their cars were labeled as Hyundai Motorsport N in the VLN opener). WRT probably will have Audi support too, and a PUG team will also. This is completely acceptable in WTCR, but questionable in TCR Europe.

Totally unexpected: Coronel will race in TCR Europe too, remaining in the Boutsen-Ginion Honda.
He will not race in Hungary do to the regulations, Stéphane Lémeret will replace him for that round.

If costs are going up because of the competitiveness of the series, then there is very little that can be done. Half a budget of testing in a BoP regulated series sounds very excessive unless it's for a case of a totally inexperienced with European circuits driver. If this is such a factor maybe an extra day of testing before some of the races could be a solution.

Finally some good news came from DG and Comté .
So basically they have a second car ready too, searching for a driver.

Well, if there aren't any teams that want to work with him perhaps he's not as great of a person as a driver

Comini always had problems with sponsors and teams. I like him, but I also think there is something more in the background.
He became champion, but struggled with money in 2015. Then became champion again with W Racing, but was "fired" as the team "had no money for a second car for 2017", and are still owing a decent money to him- or at least this was Comini's version. That second car was raced by the team at the end for Huff. W Racing always seemed more professional for me, to have such situations seems ehh...
After 1 year he left Comtoyou too- as everyone was waiting for him to join WTCR with the team. Rumours suggest he was unable to put together the backing.
Then he tried a Renault project for TCR Europe, which did not materialise, we still don't know anything about that team. Subaru was next, after it Honda came and we all know where the story ends.

Anyway we will see. Still too many questions about E-TCR too.

Still no official comfirmation from either of the two teams, but posted on the TCR Europe official site.
Stian Paulsen staying with his own team in the Cupra (as it was rumored).
The third Peugeot at the Clairet Team will be shared between Gilles Colombani and Stéphane Ventaja every other race (both guys are unknown for me).

Well the TCR homepage posted that he'd signed up for TCR Europe and he announced the same in his latest vlog.

Also 28 cars (assuming they're all full season) is not too bad. Plus they'll get at least 5 Eastern Europe Trophy racers in Hungary and Monza with maybe a couple from the UK in Belgium. I'm looking forward to this season.
