Very sorry to hear that. Raced against him many times in the late 60s/early70s.
All the results sheets I have show him as Tony Dickinson. |

Just saw this post. I watched Tony many times at Oulton Park until moving to Oxford in 1983. Not much after. Always good to watch.
Thanks Tony RIP. |

Mike Buckler - many Alfisti will be familiar with Mike Buckler, who ran the Rusper Alfa garage not far from Gatwick Airport for many years. He was both a fine driver, with a history that included competing on the East African Safari, but was also an accomplished engineer, preparing many race cars, primarily for the Alfa Championship.
Probably his finest glory was one of his last - the build of a twin-engined Alfa 164 V6, for no better reason than that he could! He had worked-out that the rear sub-frame mounting points were the same as the front, in reverse, so he set too & built beast. Soon after completion, he was proudly showing it to myself & another customer one morning. The other guy asked what he was going to use it for, to which Mike replied as a tow vehicle. "Wouldn't a Transit be more practical?" was the response from the less-than-impressed man! |
