Remus should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I've just read this thread for the first time, and can't believe this makes any business sense. The comparison with football admission is rather pointless I feel, as many of the young people I know drag their parents off to matches rather than just go along with them for a day out. In quite a number of cases, the parents would not attend unless pressured by the child. Therefore, as the child is driving the demand, it makes sense to charge them. I have not, however, met many children who nag and pester their parents to go racing, certainly not in the same numbers as other sports competing for their attention, such as local rugby fixtures.
Secondly, at some sporting events supply exceeds demand - eg six nations rugby matches, thus price structures can be inflated accordingly, including child prices. No danger of this happening in national motorsport.
Looking at the attendence at national events, even BGT and BTCC, is appears obvious we need to do all we can to attract more paying adults and get children hooked during thier teenage years.
I have two young children myself who I dearly hope grow up viewing motorsport as their first choice live sport, but know for a fact that pricing structures like this will reduce not only their attendence, but also my own over coming years.

For a dad (or mother) who HAS to take his children with him (or her) due to what ever reason ie: lack of baby sitting, to watch his weekly fix of motorsport will surely think twice now. A Cheapish day out will now possibly mean that dad might now stay at home instead and the circuit would loose at least one admission fee for the sake of trying to gain money for children. I doubt that if children were free-a round of fast food for those kids wouldn't be a problem and money would be gained by the circuit anyway. 50% of something is better than 100% of nothing-having been a sales manager I'd know.

BARC paperwork states children under 12 free. Could upset a lot of people at the gate.

But who's in charge of the spectators? Would that be the BARC who are organising the racing, or the CSMA who have hired the circuit? Bit of a grey area there, and perhaps the BARC have just assumed it'll be over 12, as it's an MSV circuit..

Indeed.......I have the flyer CSMA sent me which states in large lettering "Great value-Children under 16 go free" so I only ordered one ticket. If Palmer demands money for my 14 year old at the gate there will be trouble.

btw....still says under 16s are free on their website http://www.classicfestival.co.uk/
