Yeah, certainly agree he's good enough for a seat in Lights and he should get some strong results. I'm not saying he's bad, just not great. I think he does a very impressive job as a commentator, so if it doesn't work out for him I'm sure he has a future there.

In other news, Jesse Mason in at Guthrie Meyer Racing.

Do you have anyone in mind? We've got Matos this year and I suspect that'll be about it until Indy.

F3L has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!

Hinch is a brilliant commentator and a good driver however I feel he will not win the Championship

The grid just improved.... Palm Beach International Raceway just signed Charlie Kimball to drive the #35 PBIR Indy Lights car in 2009. Kimball is a great addition to the series, it will be nice to see him back home.

Great news for the series. This is shaping up to be a classic season... to be honest I'm more excited about it than IndyCar.

Anyone got any clues on the driver??

Ben Clucas would be a good candidate, as past winner of New Zealand Cup, Denny Hulme Memorial Trophy, Australian F3 championship, Australian Gold Star, ex Toyota F1 driver development programme. ect...

Wow, so five Brits in the series now Hope Tappy goes well in the USA, seems his talents have largely gone ignored so far in Europe.

Yep...it's true.

In other news, Richard Philippe has signed with Genoa Racing for the 2009 season. Adding to the quality of drivers enrolled.

He was in F3 Euro Series last year, and World Series by Renault before that (didn't he break an arm or something?)

Here's the driver lineup climb:
http://www.indycar.com/pro/drivers/

28 cars!

Not announced, but former Champcar driver Jan Heylen sneaked in. He'll be driving for e-sport.

I am more impressed with this grid than the GP2 or F2 one.

Actually, it was announced March 25th. Heylen is a great addition to Team E. The guy has more experience than just about anyone his age .

The line-up of 28 cars itself is impressive, but when you actually step back and look at the drivers involved,...you know we are in for a very competitive season! Enjoy.

Most of us knew this was coming, but Jay Howard has officially signed on with PBIR for the 2009 season. PBIR has a real strong line-up for 2009 with both Charlie Kimball and Jay Howard.

I will start a season thread today, as long as the 2009 season begins this weekend.
