ALMS Round 7: Baltimore

It's time for Baltimore. Last year the first lap was quite entertaining, and the event has been well attended the first 2 years. This year will be a heck of a battle in between PC and GT. If the P1 and P2's can stay out of trouble they should win overall, but as we saw last year staying out of trouble is tough. Qualifying is on Friday 30 August at 1630 local track time with the 2 hour race on Saturday at 1545. The DeltaWing is not going be there to navigate the tight confines, but they will be back with a new wing at COTA.

Anyone know if they fixed the hump over the train tracks? Or is it going to cause issues again?

One would hope. I watched the 2003 Miami street race earlier today and that circuit had a nasty hump right in the middle of a corner. Not as bad as that San Antonio (?) CART circuit, but pretty bad.

ALMS Saturday afternoon, WEC Sunday morning, IndyCar Sunday afternoon. Only conflict is WEC with Vuelta a Espana.

Lazzaro, interestingly, is a Gold-rated driver per FIA rules. Not sure how it will work as one Bronze/Silver required per car in P2.

I really hope Muscle Milk has issues at this race because Balitmore has bene a track where LMP2, LMPC, and GTLM truely are mixed amongst each other in the overall battle. Remember how close to OVERALL victory the Falken Porsche got last year. In 2011, a GT could have had a shot if it were not for Tommy Milner's Corvette punting the BMW M3 on the restart.

After watching those ESM 'TV shows' Guy seemed a bit abrasive to me. Maybe there's a personality clash. After watching those shows I wouldn't want him rep-ing my brand.

Whereas Johannes comes off as a nice guy in everything I've ever seen him in.

There are certain personalities, that unless you're the absolute best at what you do you'll have a tough time finding a gig.

Wow, very interesting. I echo what nkoske said; there may have been a good old fashioned

behind closed doors. One of those things you absolutely didn't see coming... I hope Guy Cosmo the best - he seemed like a very nice individual. I don't quite see the "abrasive" part of your statement, nkoske...

Buying off a driver in the middle of the season seems a bit low to me, from both L5 and Cosmo.

I don't think it's something that can be fixed without completely redesigning the tracks in that area. I'll take a look when I get into town on Thursday night but I expect the chicane to return.

I won't condemn either Scott Tucker or Guy Cosmo until I know all the details there. Glad to see Guy has a good ride, glad to see Anthony Lazarro with ESM, glad ESM filled the seat with a good driver.

People are making assumptions as to how and why this has occurred. Look, I'm no fan of Tucker on multiple levels, but unless you know all the facts in this, commenting as if you do is ridiculous. Do we know if there were issues at ESM for Cosmo, leading him to look elsewhere?
