NME should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I had a dream ...

Dear Oncle Bernie,
This is true ... i had this dream during today's GP.
After the first torrid 15 minutes of GP racing i fell a sleep (fortunately) and i dreamed that i was watching a F1 race at the cathedral of racing SPA-Francorchamps with Schumacher's Ferrari sleapstreaming Montoya with both trying to overtake Irv's Jaguar while fighting to keep Alesi's Mclaren behind. Just 2 seconds behind Frentzen's Williams was battling like a MadDog side-by-side arond the outside style with Villenueve's newly rebranded Prodrive-Honda, with both being overtaken in a dramatic late breaking manouvre to Les Combes by a returned Hakkinen in the other silver bullet ... but then i heard a bang ... a reality bang of Schumacher 10th BORING race win champagne cork!!!

Nothing against Schummy or even the new kids, but watching guys like Irvine and Jacques fighting to get into points makes me wonder how would Formula 1 be if the cars were similar and still have the charm of the older guys !!!???

I will go back to sleep now ...

if F1 used all the same cars (ie became a one make series) then a LOT of ppl would lose jobs, at the factry, design team etc etc etc. F1 is as big a challange for drivers as it is for teams. but yea, i want more close racing, the rules on car design should be tighter. you know, the drovers championship would look like this if there was no ferrari's

1.Montoya 44 pts

2.Schumacher R 42

3.Coulthard 37

4.Raikkonen 20

5.Button 11

6.Heidfeld 7

it would actually be quite exciting, with the top three so close. maybe we should just ban ferrari?

If there were no Ferrari's, it would look nothing like that, because everyone would have their results bumped up. Even Mark Webber would have scored a point in Germany!

These are minus TGF scores. Okay I'm tired and the writing's too small so I may have got something wrong with Montoya's score but you can see it isn't much better since there are more points to play for=bigger points gaps. So I suppose if we went back to 9 points per win that might make things more exciting in the short term. It deprived Prost of 6WDCs didn't it?

The driver, not the team, for anyone who might wish to make a clever comment...

R. Barrichello 70
J. Montoya 67
Mini Schu 58
DC 52
Kimi 27
