Servus Japan (maintenance garage of ARTA) will launch new company to supply customer service of Mclaren 720S GT3.
There is a rumor that Kazumichi Goh, Servus Japan (ex-Team Goh) and Seiji Ara will launch new GT300 team (But not Team Goh) by using 720S GT3.4

And EIcars might suspend SGT activity.

Would be awesome to see McLaren back in SGT. Red and black just like the good old days of Lark haha.

Shame to see Elcars leave if that happens. Was good to have the big Bentley in the class even if it wasn’t overly successful.

DTM can go and do their own thing. I want them to be totally seperate from SGT. SGT is fine without the Germans. I hope class one never comes about.

Found an interesting article about young drivers from openwheel feeder series considering Japan in their motorsports career. I really hope Super GT becomes more and more popular worldwide so that it can become a regional series that can spread throughout Asia.

Yes. Just like Honda Cars Tokai & Lotus LCI, KTM Cars Japan is also under the same holding company (VT Holding) which is led by driver/owner Kazuho Takahashi. Similar thing with Lotus Evora MC in GT300. The lineup is still from Super GT GT300 drivers as well.

But with Dome being the maintenance garage & most of drivers are from #98 Civic TCR car , I wonder if Dome will cut its ST-TCR class effort from 2 to 1 car.

As I wrote for DSC, I would think, and quite frankly hope, that Nissan don't blow up the whole driver lineup and drop the likes of Mardenborough or Chiyo when they're both very, very quick (especially Mardenborough).

Quote:

Whoaaaaa...that's a surprise to see a Phoenix Racing entry not attached to a VAG car if that's true.

Quote:
*#18 and #55 might switch the chassis to NSX GT3.
That's very troublesome for the future of the Mother Chassis if Team UPGarage drops the 86 MC. And I'm going to guess that BMW are out entirely if ARTA does indeed make the long-awaited Honda NSX GT3 switch.

Would be the perfect way to go out, but my goodness, that seat in the #65 car will be a hot ticket in free agency.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading your piece, and I agree that, like Honda previously, Nissan's issues weren't any of their drivers.
And while I do like to see new blood, it'd be harsh on any of Nissan's current line-up if they got dropped.

Things would be even more serious than widely believed if Chiyo goes, but could Mardenborough himself be looking elsewhere, particularly if he still has major single-seater aspirations?

For instance, if Jan knows that there is further downsizing, given that Quintarelli is almost certainly above him in the pecking order, he may have decided on his own to do some scouting. Like you, I hope they're both kept on though.

The FIA bop will make it weigh like 1320kg so they'll neuter it before it's too dominant Then success ballast will hurt it even more. I think it'll be a good car but they need to get on top of the tires first.

You can buy tikets at official website, convenience store and ticket agency.

Last year's release date was March 9th.
But there are no English websites/ supports.
So I recommend you use booking website for tourist.

Thank you!

Then most likely release date for this years event will be around the same time?
Luckily I know a Japanese who can help me with the Japanese websites. He also couldn't find the tickets, thus I eventually asked it here.

All Nissan GT500 teams will be a pair of Japanese and international drivers.
And There are three drivers who did not participate in the GT500 last year.

No, not the Bentley! On the other hand, it's interesting that ARTA's switching to a Honda NSX in the GT300 class would become a possibility.

So at the moment I have in GT300, based on what I've read so far, here, on as-web/auto sport, and elsewhere in SGT twitter, these 30 cars:

6 Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3s (Gainer x 2, Kondo/NATC, Phoenix, Tomei, Dijon)
4 Mercedes AMG GT3s (LEON, GSR, Arnage, R'Qs)
4 Lexus RC F GT3s (LM Corsa x 2, Panther, GreenBrave)
4 Honda NSX GT3s (Drago, CarGuy, ARTA, UPGarage)
3 Mother Chassis (Tsuchiya, Mach, Cars Tokai)
2 Lamborghini Huracan GT3s (JLOC x 2)
2 Toyota Prius PHV GTs (apr x 2)
1 Aston Martin Vantage GT3 (KTR)
1 Audi R8 LMS GT3 (Hitotsuyama)
1 McLaren 720S GT3 (Goh)
1 Porsche 911 GT3-R (Pacific)
1 Subaru BRZ (R&D Sport)

Does this seem about right?

It's been talked about, certainly not confirmed as of yet. I could see their reasoning for it: No customer support, higher repair costs (per Tamanaka-san of Team Mach), and also, the MC is a very tricky car to drive for a less-experienced racer compared to a GT3 with driver assists. I recall Takayuki Hiranuma was set to drive for them in 2017 but could not pass his rookie test...Panther Team Thailand also had a harder time keeping their 86MC on the road in 2017 than they did this year when they finished all 8 races with the RC F GT3.
