EX F3000 Chassis currently sprinting?
Folks, i'm not all that knowledgeable on the sprinting and hillclimbing world but can anyone help me track down any ex F3000 chassis preferably still competing with 3.0 Cossie/Mugen/Judd engines?
I'm thinking of starting some research into F3000 and understand that several Reynards and Lolas might still be competing today, particularly in the sprinting fraternity. Any pointers appreciated!! Cheers Chunty |

The Eyles brother have two Lolas but neither has the 3 litre engine still in place.
Martin Dowling sold his Reynard 12 months ago. There is a Reynard in the South West but that has a 3.3 litre Cossie in the back. So basically no proper F3000 cars still in the sport! U can always check the BSC website (www.britishsprint.org) to check on chassis numbers! |

Thanks Steve!
What about Roger Kilty - did he race and sprint a Reynard with an 3.0v8? |

Well, ex-World Series by Nissan racer Ander Vilariño raced an ex-F. Nippon Reynard 99L for a hillclimb championship sometime ago. Chanoch Nissany did the same with his World Series Light Dallara in Hungarian hillclimb races before and after his short F1 testing campaign. You could see info of both at Szasz Motorsport website.
Also it was a slightly modified Lola T96/50 on hillclimbs too, that could be appreciated on this website: http://www.f3000.ch |

Hey, thanks Mekola, i'll check it out.
Might need the cars to be currently based in the UK though? |

Thanks, again Steve.
Is there any possibility that there might be any cars even not currently in use somehwere in the Midlands? |

Peter Griffiths - 89D Reynard - car sold to Japan. John Garnett - 94D Reynard - car sold to ? Ken Dundee - 89D Reynard - unknown (Ken is based in Northern Ireland) Mark Harrison - 93D Reynard - car sold to France As for F3000 cars lurking in the Midlands the only one I know of is a Reynard (I think it is a 93 or 94 car) - the current owner is planning to install an oversized engine (Cosworth DFL I think) and then sprint it. |

The Speed world tends to go for F3 more than anything else Chunters, you might have more luck with Monoposto & BOSS?

Time for me to put Mr W right for a change, i know it does not happen very often so im going to milk it!!!
James Belton had a 93D Cosworth AC did one sprint in it at Pembrey, this was an ex John Garnett car and he went on to win Euro Boss 3000 in it. Roger Kilty only did one sprint in his Boss car and was beaten by an OMS and F3 Dallara (with ace race engineer) this car was put together by Terry Clifford but he only tested it once. Pete Griffiths car went to America not Japan Ken Dundee's Car was an 88d not 89d Mark Harrisons car has recently been re sold Ther are 3 f3000 reynards in the Coventry area, one in full spec f3000, one in bits and one with possibly DFR or Judd in. The Woodhouse brothers have 2 Lola T90/50's one fitted with a DFR one fitted with Le Mans Jaguar XJR9 engine. There are no ex f3000 cars in Monopsoto as it would be to much of a conversion job. Not sure in Boss now as the series is not going very well. Hope this helps a bit. Cheers Rich Monoposto Race Engineer of the year 2007 |

Any contact details for any of the above would be welcome, particularly the cars you mention still with 3000 spec engine installations or similar Cossie/Judd V8 power. |

There were 2 or 3 F3000 cars in Boss this year only Kilty from the Uk, drivers have been using ex world series Dallara Nissans as they are cheaper to run,the series is going ok and should boast much stronger grids next year ( averaged about 12 cars this year.)

A couple or several years back someone was sprinting Richard Dean's old 1980S F3000 car at Curborough.
Sadly I can't remember who owned the car but I do remember it was in the Panasonic livery that Richard ran in the last 1980s/early 1990s. |

All good info for this thread folks, keep it coming. Once again I only want to know for research, particularly cars as close to original spec as possible, not necessarily still competing but ideally in the Midlands! |
