Masahiro Saiki Honda large project leader and Tomohiro Onishi explains 2021 NSX-GT development points.

As for the chassis, there are many common parts, and there are many parts where development has been frozen due to this season's regulations, so it is not possible to evolve the hardware very much.
Therefore, in the test, we expanded the range of machine setup.
Since the engine itself is subject to homologation, it cannot be changed significantly, but all the piping such as the exhaust manifold and intake pipe have been reviewed and improvements have been made to reduce the amount of oil and coolant water.
As a result, the weight of the engine room has been reduced.
The engine power has improved compared to last year.
The weight reduction of the intake and exhaust systems of the engine does not contribute to the improvement of engine power. However, even if the engine power was sacrificed to some extent, priority was given to reducing the weight of the front.

There is a trivial thing that Nissan changes the engine name this year as "NR4S21".
It says that the thermal efficiency and output of the engine have been improved by making improvements around the cylinder head.
This year is the period of freezing engine homologation, so it is unusual for the engine name to change.

Does Mother Chassis next gen is still on development? If so, I think latest GR86 will find its way as MC cars on GT300.

Tsutomu Tojo analyzes that the reason Toyota squad succeeded in the Okayama round was because they chose softer tires than other manufacturers.
Therefore, he thinks that Toyota does not have an advantage all this season.

I think the new pit exit is pretty dangerous. You'll get hit by another car because it's already on the racing line. I'm not sure about the idea of such pit exit layout.

Takahiro Sasaki (TRD engine development chief) tells about 2021 NRE engine development.
Regarding engine development, large casting parts such as cylinder heads, engine blocks, oil pans and cranks cannot be developed under a three-year homologation.
In other words, the development focus is on engine control and combustion, including anti-lag, on the shapes of pistons, connecting rods, camshafts and parts that can be developed, and on the intake port shape.
TRD has listed the design and fuel efficiency as the most important development items so that both units can always be operated at maximum power.
TRD improved fuel efficiency without losing its drivability.
In terms of engine, it has been operated one rank higher level than last year also in the race.

Sounds good work. Hopefully it can help the car stay competitive, no reason why they can't as far as I can see. They really have done well with what they have so far.

I think the fuel efficiency could be key for them, as that has often been one of their strengths and if they can do it without losing performance then even better. This could be the year they take over

Wonder why they did that? It could work, but they need to make sure it doesn't go too far and ruin too many chances for teams in the championship

Looking from the numbers (bigger size), I think those fuel restrictor sizes for this season will give less severe effects for the performance.

According to NOB Taniguchi (#4) blog,
When GTA surveyed SGT entrants about the adoption of "indy style" tight rolling starts, the majority said they shouldn't do it because it's dangerous.
However, Taniguchi opposes to it, because SGT is a professional race so they must show fans something fascinating special.

Latest Autosport magazine (Makoto Ogushi) is reporting the crisis of FIA-GT3 philosophy.
In this article, Takeshi Tsuchiya (Tsuchiya Engineering, #25) says that there is a rumor that some FIA-GT3 manufacturers supply parts pursuing the gray zone of technical regulations.
In short, only certified parts are allowed for all FIA-GT3 cars, but there is a rumor that non-certified parts are in circulation.
Tsuchiya says that he introduced 911GT3R to his team because he believes Porsche does not cheat like that.
Tsuchiya says that it is okay to exploit a gap in the technical regulations (that is the best part of the race!) but it is a violation to do what is clearly stated that it should not be done.
It is unclear if such parts are imported into Japan, but Tsuchiya actually saw such suspicious parts are in circulation in Asian FIA-GT3 race.
Under such circumstances, the FIA-GT3 philosophy of equal condition cannot be established.
Tsuchiya said that he wanted to believe that there would be no such cheat because he wanted to win the race in a straightforward manner, and that such cheat should not be allowed to happen.
Tsuchiya said he would leave the racing business if he lost hope for Japanese racing.

Previously I wonder why #25 is the only team which chooses 911 GT3 R.

Also, I'm curious about the regulations. All FIA GT3 cars are already homologated, so there are lot of parts that can't be changed. How come the regulations allow those non-certified parts to be used?

The specific method is unknown,
but I think he means that non-homologated special parts that are not available for everyone are probably on the market.
