Success of a company is irrelevant to the discussion.
Who has he damaged? Tander, GRM to start with. Buried Tander for "youth" then shows up with Courtney. Dumps GRM in it with a tantrum over uprights. Shoots off his mouth and is inconsistent. Not fitting to be the CEO of a sporting organisation. Will be in and out like Gore was. Just the same type. In it for his own interests and out as soon as he sells off Boost (as he already did in the US). He is a loose cannon. Sent from my SM-G975F using Tapatalk |

Laughable to say he dumped GRM in it. Rogers knew the contract he signed and has been around for long enough, and he didn’t seem to hold it against Mr Adderton, infact they teamed up again this year for Race Tasmania!! Doesn’t seem like GRM feel they were dumped in it. As for Tander, tonnes of drivers have been dropped at sponsors requests, this wasn’t a unique scenario. Adderton seems very loyal to drivers he backs, hence his backing of Courtney and his relationships with Murphy & Stanaway……. Motor Racing is all about connections, he seemingly had no relationship with Adderton, so why would he get any favours? Maybe Tander should have stuck his hand up to drive a Super Tourer in the late 90s? |

In those days he couldn’t.Cochrane blocked V8 drivers competing in other series. You had to get approval from Cochrane to run in any other series and he sure wasn’t going to give it for Super Touring.Only Brock had the status to ignore him and not worry about repercussions.A few Holden drivers-Murphy,Ingall- got to run in the Bathurst Super Touring 1000 because of pressure from Holden on Cochrane.

Bit more on the TLA/TGI bid:
Former NASCAR chief operating officer George Pyne is linked to what is expected to be a competitive bid to purchase Supercars. Pyne's Bruin Capital business is thought to be mounting a bid for the Australian touring car series via its recent acquisition of TGI Sport. Bought in partnership with QMS Media, TGI Sport also includes leading sports and marketing agency TLA Worldwide, which already has a significant footprint in Australia. https://www.motorsport.com/v8superca...t-bid/6622891/ There is more in the link above, including Skaife & TLA/motorsport. It will be interesting to see where the series goes under new ownership if indeed someone puts up enough money to buy it. It seems almost certain that changes will have to be made to give the series a new focus.

I think the teams hold the key, do they want to sell their stake?
If they don’t, that presumably knocks out the Adderton etc… bid? If they do, that presumably knocks out the Skaife/TLA bid? I’d say the TLA bid is in pole position at the moment |

I understand the 'Skaife/TLA' bid/ EOI is not limited by any decision of the minority shareholders including REC owners.

Interesting the none of the bids seem to include Seamer as a bidder.....

I just hope it's someone who cares enough about the sport to keep it going strong and keeps it attractive

If any of the motorsport identity consortiums get up, Seamer will be the first out the door. The guy has zero clue. His best bet is a new owner who knows as much as him.

Despite the sloppy journalism stating The Bend bidding to buy Supercars (The Bend being a circuit, not an organisation), appears that Peregine Corporation, the owner of the The Bend, is a bidder.

That would not be a bad thing at all, at least it would give the series a home track. Other promoters might be less than pleased about it for their own reasons but that is only speculation out of nowhere while I am writing this. While there might be a lot of bidders coming up with a plan to finance the idea is another thing altogether. It seems odd that all of a sudden there appears to be a flurry of discussion about this almost as though someone has an agenda apart from AC.

With so many circuit alternatives at The Bend, it could see any number of variations on meetings such as we are seeing in Townsville. Last edited by cavvy; 17 Jul 2021 at 05:19. Reason: gobbly gook |

I somehow doubt we will see a new owner that will tick all the boxes...
What do we actually want from a new owner? |

I just hope they have enough people at the top who know what's best for the series. And make sure the new owner has help from people who have worked in the series
