Single Seater Track Days
I know this can be a contentious issue, but does anyone know of a trackday operator who allows single seaters.
I've got a car my son races, but it's not for cheap practice, but to let others who don't have a race licence to try before they buy. |

Donnington run some trackdays of their own which allows anything out on open pit lane senario.

If they are serious about trying before buying, they have probably gone a fair way down the "getting started trail" i.e. have probably taken ARDS test and have a licence. If this is the case, they could go general testing - if there is any this time of year - so your original question doesn't need answering. This is just as well, because I don't know the answer.
If you can sell it quickly enough, they could do their first race in it at the Mallory Plum Pudding on Boxing Day. |

Book a track usually allow single seaters but it can be a bit frantic in a single seater, you're normally with the quick Porsches - much quicker in a straight line and slower through the corners. Try Anglesey, they often have "small" test days.

I think ATDO (Association of Trackday Operators) have agreed as a whole that no single-seaters should be allowed on any trackdays as of 1st Jan 2004.

Traxperience, which is operated by the BRSCC allow single seaters on selected days (no competition licence required), subject to demand.
Dates for 2004 should be available from the BRSCC stand at Autosport International. I will post further information here when available. Steve Burns. BRSCC Traxperience Co-ordinator. |

Steve Burns, can you email me also if you have a track day for single seaters. We are in the process of getting one and would love to try it out a bit before we do a test day. Thanks,
Gadgit. |
