McLaren greed could cost LH the WDC?
Yes, LH screwed up today but the team is as guilty as LH himself imo, for not looking at the big picture, reigning in the rookie and teach him that winning is not the only goal as the season winds down. Forfeit the win if necessary and finish in the points. The DNF was what Kimi and Alonso needed, and the McLaren tactics must be questioned. Now we'll really see how LH handles extreme pressure as a rookie,. Hindsight is easy I know, but McLaren (at least the LH portion) did shoot themselves in the foot today.

What do you mean by "McLaren's greed" ? Where did they push to gain what ?

Greed? I do believe the chance to discuss anything in a meaningful manner has been lost already.
McLaren messed up and Lewis messed up the pit entry. Martin Whitmarsh gave his assessment on ITV and it is summarised here (actually I think it contains everything he said). http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/63111 McLaren thought they were playing it cautiously because the weather looked like it could go either way. They wanted to make sure they made the right tyre choice. Hindsight proved otherwise. |
