Maxi Endurance 48h should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Maxi Endurance 48h

Good afternoon,

We are organising the longest race, the MAXI ENDURANCE 48H, at Circuit de Navarra. Nowadays almost ever 24 hours race has become a sprint event. It´s the main reason because we are organising this mammoth challenge next year on March 14th-17th, held in Los Arcos (Spain).

MAXI ENDURANCE 48H. A new challenge for lovers of strategy and endurance races. This project results from the idea of organizing the most demanding circuit race in the current Motorsport scene.

The fact of being able to finish a 48h race implies, for a team and its pilots, both a mechanical and a personal challenge, which adding up desire for self-improvement, competition, adrenaline and excitement, the result is a unique and unforgettable experience.

The word “Team” finds in this Motorsport event its full meaning

We’ve raised the bar for endurance races of 24h to 48h, to recover the spirit uncertain of who can win an endurance race.

The longest circuit endurance race in the world! 48h non stop! Race supervised and regulations approved by the Spanish Automobile Federation.

Do you enjoy challenges as much as we do?

Would you like to be one of the first to live this experience?

Build a team and take part in a race that will make history. The most demanding challenge for machines, teams and pilots.

Are you up for it?

48h Keys.

• Become a part of History taking part in the most demanding circuit race in the world.
• Overcome a mechanical and personal challenge. A sound team strategy is key to succeed.
• The total cost of the race per hour, is 35% lower than the current 24 races, as costs are split between twice the number of drivers. You therefore pay less for the same time on track. You can choose between 5 to 8 drivers.
• To lower costs and enhance the strategy, there will be a maximum number of tiresto be used within the 48 hours. They will be determined by the manufacturer for not compromising security.
• Entry fee only 2.356€ per driver if you are 8¡
• Prizes between 200.000€ and 400.000€ depending on the number of participants.
• All rescues are allowed. As final results are in the air until the very end, and in 48h anything can happen, we would not like you to be left out of the race if any incident that can be repaired were to happen. Also it is allowed to change once the engine if necessary.
• A compensating handicap system so that everyone has the opportunity to win back time making the race exciting to the very end.
• Overall Champion and podium per category.
• Eligible cars among a total of 80 models and 28 different brands.

We would like to use this forum - the largest one involving endurance racing- to keep in touch with drivers, teams and fans.

Was quite surprised (in a good way) to see a 1973 3.0 RSR on the entry list!

I want to see, that this 40-years old Porsche will kick off Vantage GT4 or Evora GT4 - or one of 997 GT3-R's from Maxi GT

Thank you!! The idea is interesting, but it will cost as a full season... I'm really wondering how many entries they will have... And how many will finish!

Interesting to see a couple of British entries. Shortie's Rollcentre Toybaru, and Carvell's Jag XF.

Quite surprising, I didn't think Martin Short was particularly impressed with the Toyota after the Britcar 24 hours last year? Thought I'd read he was attempting to sell it straight after that race, could well be wrong though.

I do like the idea of this race, hope a few more teams go for it. Can't imagine there being much to do for spectators for 48 hours, though (you wouldn't bring your 'better half' or kids along, I mean!)

Okay so the 32 hour race is this weekend at Portimao after the 48 hour was cancelled last year...

Initial entry lists had like 30-40 names or something, mostly on level "we hope to be there". Last week they said they were expecting 18-23 cars. Then the final entry list came out with 16 cars. And now we've had qualifying with 14 cars posting times that's gonna be extremely entertaining 32 hours
http://f.cl.ly/items/260r2k0h0J230v2...ing%20Grid.pdf

It's a weird top 5, Wolf CN before 997 Cup before 430 GT2 2009 before GT3 Viper 2007 before Seat Leon

They also keep going on and on and on of this becoming the longest race in the century and it blistering all the records and whatever, even though (as discussed here earlier) it's not even true for current day when you look at sth like ChumpCar

With soon 16½ hours gone and 15½ to go at wet Portimao, only 10 cars of the 14 starters have done more than 10 laps The Wolf CN car approaching 400 laps leads by 12 laps from the second placed Seat Leon...

Hour 22 and huge gaps in the field...

It's not going quite well for the sportscar divisions as touring cars are now vacating the top four positions, Seat Leon Cup (523L) - BMW M3 CSL (514L) - BMW 120D (495) - Renault Clio III (483L). The previously race leading Wolf CN car has, less surprisingly, hit major problems, and the another Radical never really got anywhere in the first place. All the other sportscars, except for the aged GT3 Viper now in fourth position, have long been off the chart.

Well if it was a 24 hour race it would be over just right now, but there is still 8 hours to go. The previously mentioned Seat now leads by 28 laps from the next car, hower it could get sort of interesting towards the end as the previously stopped Wolf CN now in 5th is slowly catching again and 10-30 seconds a lap faster than others

Terrible PR coming out from the organizers (almost to the level of Daytona 24 Classic few weeks ago) and I don't really know why I care in the first place, I guess the longer race sort of intrigues

This has a long way to go before its a classic, or even a notable event. 48 hours, though!

Well, if they ever actually get to that point, still 16 hours short of 48. But it seems like they want to have the race again next year.

Oh that Seat won by the way. The CN car fell down again.

This years 32 hour race (yes it still exists) is scheduled for Nov 20-22 so only little over month away. However there's been very, VERY little attention paid to it. I believe entries opened up in June already and the organizers set the goal of having as many cars as there are hours AT MININUM.

They posted a preliminary couple days ago on FB. Looks very similar to last year with same old F430 GT2 and Viper and bunch, though IIRC more CN Wolfs and Radicals now
https://m.facebook.com/photo.php?fbi...26121&refid=13

But I wouldn't trust on that list until race week as last year many cowarded out too at the end. The "interest list" is more like average forum persons guess possibility list

So as I suspected the above initial entry list was (again) pure nonsense, and now the race has been postponed after only 8 cars wanted to race in the 32 hours. Though I think "postponed" equals "canned for good" in real terms.
