And tell me a driver who could control a racecar on a skating rink on slicks...

You only have to look at Zac Best who took to the grass on Mountain Straight on that fateful first lap at slow speed. Absolutely no control.

Speedcafe now suggesting Main Game drivers start the race in exceptional circumstances.

Totally agree (after the fact ) that this should have been the case on Sunday and going forward.

Why? Every single driver on that grid is a capable racer by the fact that they all had a Superlicence (TM)

Are we saying that to start a Supercars race, you need a SuperStarting Superlicence (TM)?

What is the problem they are trying to solve?

There was not a thing preventing the main game drivers starting the race last Sunday.

What is next? Mandatory breaking distances?

What a load of cobblers.

These same team owners had a choice and put co-drivers in their cars to start at Indy. Co-drivers who in many cases had almost no seat time in a Supercar.

And what happened then?

Will stop the Main Game Divers and Team owners complaining out the test pilots in this instance.

I like the idea

I note that Brad Jones was the one that said this and he had Dale Wood in his car, and Tickford had all their co-drivers too.

So do as I say, not as I do.

I'm a fan of the alternative suggestion - You qualify the car, you start the race.

Probably a smart idea this year, with no other endurance events for the co-drivers.

yay, more rules.

How about you make the call and wear the result.... if you are worried you have employed a driver that cant start a race in the wet then make the call to have him sit out the race start.

Running a 500km enduro before Bathurst would be more beneficial than adding more to the rulebook.

Agree - put the big boy pants on, make a decision, be ready to stand by that call and get on with it.

No doubt but I was thinking more of the skating rink that was the "grass" on the outside of the Chase.

I'd write to Bathurst Council with your concerns...
