The following car chassis numbers are unknown. If anyone could help 'fill in the blanks' it would be appreciated:
1) Richard Lester - 1.6 and 2.0 BDA engined T100 - Sprinted from 1975 to 1977 (inclusive) 2) Bob Penzer - 5.0 Chevvie engined T332 - Sprinted in 1979 at Wroughton (could this be the ex-John Hinley car from 1978?) 3) John Parsons & Tony Sofiano - 5.0 Chevvie engined T142 - Sprinted in 1974 (mainly at Curborough) 4) Basil Stainer & D. Barton - 5.0 Chevvie engined T142 - Sprinted in 1977 at Wroughton and Curborough ![]() |

Could the Parsons/Sofiano and Stainer/Barton cars be one and the same, and might they be the ex Fred Cliffe, John Ravenscroft car SL142/22 [ex Hardwick F5000]

Chris, you have been reading my thoughts exactly! The 'trickle-down' effect is perfect with the dates flowing nicely from one to another. I have the link to Ravenscroft already established and it seems only logical once in the sprint arena the car would be passed on within the fraternity.
HOWEVER can we be sure? It is compelling but for the time being I will hold off until some-one can prove the link. ![]() |

Hi guys
There were still lots of T142s floating around England even as late as 1974 and I wouldn't bank on it being the same car. I have a list of owners for the Hinley car (HU62) and Penzer's name isn't among them. However, I'm not sure what other T332s were still in the country by then. All had fled to the US apart from the long-lost ex-Gordon Spice HU40. I eckon this was Penzer renting a run from Hinley but - again - I woudn't stake significant sums. Allen |
