The Hrt Kid should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Bathurst camping

Well i reckon i might make the journey up to the mount this year. So where is the best camping spot. Basically i would like to get sleep and wouldnt want stuff to get damaged. Id like to have a few beers etc and a shower if possible. Are you allowed to take your own food and drinks into the camping area? Costs etc? Anything to do with camping at the mount would be much appreciated.

Thanks

I don't think there is anything wrong with camping over on the McPhillamy side of the mountain. We had a whale of a time over there last year. The bogan/********/boofhead/deadbeat side of the equation are all over Reid Park Way.

The HRT kid,

We stayed at the Paddock campground last year, I reckon it was the best spot around for a good time, everyone is in a good nature (bar the sheep jokes associated with being the only Kiwis there!) and you dont have to worry about some ferral bogan lighting ya tent on fire....

The best part about it was when you first wake up in the morning, and despite how drunk you get, you know exactly where you are when you strech and yawn with the MOUNT PANORAMA Australia sign right in front of you....

We may have a spare 10x8m site if we come back over, so scribe down +64210671986 and gimme a buzz in a couple of months and we might be able to suss you out a site if they sell out again...

I hope AVESCO don't change too many rules now that they run the Supercheap 1000, because it was an awesome set up last year, and most the time we were at the Panthers or one of the other big pubs in town....

Cheers, Timu

Has anyone else tried to get info off the V8Supercar site? I submitted my inquiry form for camping and never got a reply. Anyone know of a better way to book? Gotta get in early these days!

I agree the Paddock camping ground is the best. Almost as good is the Chase ground. Max Cameron (over behind Hell Corner) seemed to be full of Top-of-the-Mountain wannabes (noisy, stupid, feral ********s) and a conservative person like me didn't enjoy it too much.

Most of the media call McPhillarmy Park / Sulman Park 'Sodom and Gomorrah'. It scares us - we get pretty harshly treated when it's learned that we can tie our own shoelaces and put the noun before the verb to create a declarative sentence.

There's a great atmosphere in the paddock too - very friendly and relaxed.
