FIA GT Total 24hrs at Spa (Round 5) - Aug 3rd 2008 - Entrants, Testing and Race
Lieb and Maassen to Prospeed.
Unfortunately LAA withdrawn C6 entries. Very disappointing. DSC reports the team has decided to focus on LMS. With respect to additional GT1 runners I can't recall any team other than LAA being cited. |

Maybe the Ollies and Jan will be in the second Phoenix C6.R. (?) After all it is carrying GM sponsorship on it (GMAC).

OK...
www.fiagt.com www.total24hours.com There'll be an entry list here soon: http://www.planetlemans.com/entry-lists/ and www.gt1live.tv Shame about LAA, they'd brought Magnussen to join Gavin and Beretta! Some big rumours floating around, be interesting to see what pans out. I'm hoping for Mackowieki at Larbre, after he lost out at LM |

I somehow doubt ITV4 will be showing live & in full (even with the help of men & motors) - Although we did get about 7 hours worth of the race last year just on M&M, so who knows?
As back up, keep an eye on www.race-rally.be & www.hibn.tv - Races at Spa have a habit of being streamed (unless Bernie has his finger in the pie) & these 2 have done sportscars in the past. |

Is LAA afraid they are nowhere against the regular GT1 entries?

Be nice to see both Phoenix cars in the race with Hezemans, Golin, & Ollies in one car and Deletraz, Fassler, Magnussen & Fellows (or some variation of the theme) in the other. Either one could win with a decent chance of a 1-2.

yes it will be awsome, but I don't think that we will see GM its line-up of factory drivers on the 2 Phoenix Carsport

Vitaphone Maserati
Stephane Sarrazin and Eric van de Poele joining Michael Bartels and Andrea Bertolini. At their 2nd car Alexandre Negaro and Miguel Ramos are probably joined by Andrea Piccini and Stephane Lemeret. Larbre Saleen Pedro Lamy joins Gregory Franchi and Vincent Vosse. Source: http://italiaracing.net/notizia.asp?id=19630&cat=17 |

Peugeot boys seeking a little revenge in a 24 hour race in Europe, huh? I guess Montagny will be doing so more directly in the ALMS.
Losing the works-supported LAA car is a big blow. I am not sure whether the drivers will appear in the Phoenix car, as I would imagine the team would have to cough up the $$ - then they could drive with factory blessing I'm sure. I think it will still be a great fight between Vitaphone and Phoenix. Would be nice if Larbre could get in the mix, so too SRT. Jet Alliance and Gigawave with the Astons could be dicier. Porsche will certainly be bringing the big guns out against Ferrari in the form of the 61 and the IMSA car. I expect Ferrari will bring out the same in the form of AF Corse and the CR Scuderia cars, with the Pirelli-shod backups available, BMS coming of their 2nd place at Le Mans. Will Gordon Shedden drive for Ecosse? He tested for them pre-season and there is still a potential seat alongside Monfardini. |

Why is it strange? They're not competing against each other but have the same car, so they can excange drivers without them having to adapt to the car.
