His peak may be above but how often does he hit that peak? As opposed to Webber who was the most consistent driver on the grid last year

The question with Raikkkonen is whether he'd try hard enough though. Clearly he is much faster than Webber ultimately, but that means little when you don't put in a shift. Which Kimi clearly didn't during 75% of his Ferrari career.
Really? |

Yes, really. The only times he didn't score points, Japan excluded, or didn't achieve the maximum, weren't of his own making. The rest of the time, he got the most out of the car possible, which is something not even the champion can say
What is often overlooked is that Webber beat Vettel in more races than vice versa |

do you want very very good all of the time, awesome most of the time, or perfect in every way some of the time?
There is no right answer. |

All this arguing about Raikkonen and Webber is pointless, because Kimi isn't coming back.

Ferrari paid him off because he wasn't good enough, 2 races a year are not acceptable. Finally if he was that good, Mclaren would have signed him for 2010. |

I'm sorry, but I feel Kimi falls into the over-rated category as well... or more specifically "hasn't really gone on to fulfill his stratospheric potential".
Kimi is his own man, and I completely respect him for that... But come on... 18 wins and one world championship in a career that has almost exclusively been at the helm of a Ferrari or McLaren is not the record of a grand prix legend. And he would have won that world championship much more comfortably had the first half of his season not been so ordinary. He has developed this almost mythical reputation - as if he is on a level comparable to Schumacher and Alonso... And yes, when he can be bothered he sometimes is... But let's face it - Massa did not really start to look any good until he had Raikkonen as his team mate. As I've said, I greatly respect his personality and his immense talent - above all I am disappointed to be making these comments... Though, I can actually see Red Bull signing Raikkonen over Webber - he has a much sexier sounding F1 name. |

It was said tongue pressed firmly in cheek... really, Prost better than Senna???
Regarding Kimi's WDC, I'm a Ferrari fan first and foremost, and I honestly believe that Mclaren had to give them the championship, although conspiracy theories aren't my forte. As to my level of madness, I have been called worse... |
