Could be good - Yeehaa run a professional event and do it well so this could be quite a step up.

Might stand correcting, but I believe that there is one or two one hour sports car races.

My information which is 1 step from the organiser is that there will be 2 x 1hr Production Sports races over the weekend.
Sports sedans have been invited, it just depends if they can get a grid together as the NSW state round is the weekend before and there is a national round the weekend after.
Regularity will still be on and I have also heard there will be drifting.

Spectating will also be free

Sports sedans at the mountain.....HELL YEAH !!

Being realistic, it would be a huge ask with their schedule.

The Easter Weekend could have been a good opportunity for Yeehaa to involve the production car guys and have a 2-3hr race, as a result of the GT's in the 12hr, but I doubt it with the different production car endurance series going ahead for next year.

The easter contract probably wouldn't allow that type of event as it conflicts with the endurance style event that the 12hr is.

How come the organisers of this meeting can run Regularities when this was the issue that made FOSC leave Bathurst and go to Eastern Creek at Easter? Also the Production Sports that are a major part of FOSC meetings are supposed to be at both Bathurst and Eastern Creek on the same weekend? If CAMS actually administered the sport rather than acted as an overpriced insurance broker and category sanctioning fee collector only they would have acted to stop this stuff happening. If I was a Bathurst resident I would be asking how much potentially is the Council underwriting this new Easter event by.

Did the competitors at this year's event run there because it was a FOSC event, or was it because the meeting was held at Bathurst?

Do you really need to ask that question

None of us cared who ran the meeting, as long as we got to race at Mount Panorama.

Regularity wasn't the issue, it was supersprints (which conflicted with Drive Bathurst)

Regularity is run under a Superpsrint permit though isn't it? So by having a separate regularity event means a separate permit. As opposed to running some regularity events within a race meeting.

I thought the EC meet was a different weekend to Easter anyway?

FOSC at Eastern Creek is definitely at Easter(April 24).Yes a lot of the competitors at Bathurst were there because of the circuit however Bathurst is such an expensive place to run at for both organisers and competitors that entry numbers had declined in the 3 years of the meeting. This made it financially necessary for the organisers to increase the Regularity component in 2010.For many competitors it is a life long ambition to race at Bathurst but the financial cost of doing this repeatedly leads to numbers dropping or category managers saying no thanks-the same pattern has been occurring with supports at the 12 Hour.As for the Sports Sedans Yeehah had them pencilled in as a support category at the 2011 12 Hour but were unable to reach agreement with competitors and that date wasn't 1 week before a National Series round(Clem Smith Trophy at Mallala on 1 May).
