What a bummer, serves me right for booking something on my phone instead of using a proper calendar.

I was hoping to pop along commercially as it's just up the road from me but now I've double booked

HSCC only get to Thruxton once a blue moon, so this one not to be missed. I will be there in HRS with my Camaro, first race this year.

Predictably, being an Easter Bank Hol weekend, the weather will be ess aitch one tee. Wrap up warm everyone !

All of us at Thruxton are really excited about this meeting so please don't hesitate to get in touch if there's anything we can do to help.

That's a superb deal Pat. Unfortunately I've double booked so can't make it but you deserve a great crowd at those prices.

I am annoyed that this is being put on the same day as the BTCC Brands meeting. Surely having the super tourers on the bill, the logical thing to assume would be that fans of the BTCC would want to attend? Why force them to choose between the meetings?

Looking forward so much to this meeting. Hopefully we'll get good grids, good attendance, good racing and (preferably) nothing more than mechanical mishaps for us marshals to deal with.

A nice mix of series running. It's good to see the F2 back at Thruxton and at Easter too.

Found a couple of programmes from the '78 and '79 Easter F2 meetings, 55 laps with big grids full of 'names' and BTCC, Red Arrows and F3 as supports. Happy days

Will be there both days

Easy, if you want to watch good, hard, CLEAN exciting racing there is only one choice and that's HSCC and Thruxton.

I guess the reason is due to a lack of available dates. Looking at the HSCC's calendar the meetings at Cadwell, Croft and Brands Indy are generally full with the HSCC's 'regular' content and clash with BTCC meetings. Also I suspect that Thruxton by reason of its location and nature is likely to be more popular with prospective entrants than the above circuits. In terms of the HSCC's meetings, the March one day Donington meeting, Snetterton (due to the Autosport Three Hours) and the Silverstone National meeting have already full meetings - plus I suspect that Silverstone National wouldn't be overly popular with drivers. I don't believe that the HSCC has much control over the content of the Donington Historic Festival.

Personally, I would agree with Chigley's assessent over the relative merits of the two meetings.

HSCC entry forms suggest 7 races on Saturday and 9 on the Sunday.. and presume some of these will be longer than 15 mins. Will be a busy weekend (for Thruxton..).

Some races will probably be longer as the Guards Trophy race is 40 mins, Historic F2 races are about 30 mins and Martini Trophy races are 25 minutes.
