Martin Short wasn't best pleased with that Aston's parking!
The leading Corvette has an interesting line into McLeans - they seem to sacrifice the ideal racing line into the right hander because they can't get back across in the uphill left. This must comprimise the uphill (short) straight afterwards, but they must feel it is worth it to carry speed up the previous hill. I wonder if there are many marbles there? Race started off brilliant, but now planks keep parking in the gravel. The quality of some of these 'endurance' runners certainly being tested. |

There is drama here, the Rollcentre car is stuck in the pits, the car is stuck in gear, I think.

Generally the driving has been decent (and that has been commented on by some of the drivers), however they seem to be getting tired!
On the line into McLeans, it seems to be a GT line, the prototypes are nimbler and can take a wider line into the right hander. |

Just got back, great first few hours for the overall lead, while GT1 was a battle throughout.
Those Courages look superb, now they need some reliability. Now add the Audi, Peugeot and RS Spyder.......... |

Just got back too and my ears are still ringing! Not good. Anyway, I really enjoyed today, always nice to watch sportscars. Weather wasn't bad either, a bit of a breeze and the sun coming through now and again.
I take back what I said previously about the lack of photo ops for the amateur photographer at Donington. I went there for the MotoGP race and the placed was fairly packed to say the least and with a general admission ticket I couldn't really roam about. Today however I did and got some fantastic pictures and views. I started out at the Melbourne loop, then through the pits area (drivers everywhere on their way to the autograph session) then into the grandstand after Goddards hairpin (photo heaven!) then into the infield where I headed for Redgate and basically walked around and ended up back at the start finish again. The view from Redgate through Craner all the way to Starkeys is quite nice when you are standing on high ground, you get to see a lot! I had no idea that was the case. It was quite interesting watching the brakes beginning to glow on some of the cars at Redgate, some cars were running the brake bias clearly to the front (Works Zytek), others to the rear slightly (Pescarolo), the Oreca Saleen looked round about 50/50. How sad am I? How sweet do those Courage LC70s look. |

I think Jerome Policand has lost a few friends this afternoon.
Especially J-C-W. His traffic manners were borderline ridiculous. Shame about the Zytek, Stephan was superb! my predicitions for the 1-2 in GT2 both ended in the old hairpin gravel- and pretty much all of my predictions were awful! i did predict Larbre for GT1 though. How'd everyone else do? |

What I find ridiculous is that the Rollcentre team are classified out of the results, even though they completed more laps than the 2nd placed team in LMP2. Had this been at Brands, they could have crossed the line in the pits and been classified, being Donington, the line is before the first garage. Damn!
Double damn! Looks like they were going to get their first proper finish with a win too! The monkey will get off the back of the Radical soon! (It'd better!) Rob. |

Does anyone have any idea at the attendance for race day? From a article I read over on DSC it sounds like it was fairly well attended with the main grandstand opposite the pits being full. I certainly hope this was the case, would definatly be a improvement.

Great day yesterday!
Loved Donington, really nice circuit with some fantastic spectator areas. Attendance was no more than 'respectable'. The series just doesn't get the attendance it deserves. Congrats to Creation, I know they desperately wanted the top step of the podium but they put on a great show, and 2nd and 3rd ain't bad! Commiserations to Shorty and the team, there's just not much you can say about their cruel bad luck. Brands Hatch next year (please)? |

Bad luck for the Spyker. Victim of traffic and mechanical issues. I wonder if we'll see them next year. Just saw on financial news that Spyker wants to do a stock emmision to finance an F1 adventure...

It was quite funny, the commentators for Motors TV and the live stream, David Leslie and that bloke who's name i've forgotten, both believed that the Alphand Corvette took the GT1, however, off camera the Modena Aston caught and passed them right at the end!
