Algarve Historic Festival Oct 2009

I notice that this is listed on the Masters website for 16th - 18th Oct. Timetable looks promising but does anybody know what the entry list is looking like (or is likely to be)? We're thinking of having a holiday on the Algarve at about that time so it would be good to 'time it right' if the event is worthwhile attending.

I presume that tickets can be bought at the circuit on the day - the circuit website doesn't look too informative on this point.

Thanks, Gary

Gary, you are unlikely to find out much about entry list from Masters as they never publish in advance. You could email them and ask, though. Legends sports cars, Lurani FJs and HGPCA are also racing there.

On a personal note, I will be there in Touring 70s- In the best traditions towing car behind Vito for the 3500 mile round trip.......... (OK, tradition would suggest I drive it there, but it ain't road registered so )

Anyone else?

There is a Pre War race and the boys will take two cars.

Easy way is Ferry to Spain direct or about 1600 Quid a car on CARS transporters.

So does that mean you will be joining us, Terry?

There is a very good reason for (me) racing that w/end- it is the date when I should be picking up my free bus pass from NNDC

So have some friends and family joining to celebrate. Not sure when and how but sure can think of something involving a modicum of alcohol!

Iain, you had better not be too busy with all them cars for a party!

We are going to be there with quite a few cars. The plan is for the cars then to stay on in Europe and be at Paul Ricard 2 weeks later. Great couple of weekends away for the end of the season and somewhere slightly warmer than it will be in Moscow at that time!

Yep, that's the way I look at it- can't make ferry to Spain work for me, though- either too early or too late on P&O and Brittany, plus distance in UK I would have to cover to get to Portsmouth or Plymouth!

Roger, hope there are some saloons amongst your cars going......

Sorry you can't make it Peter- we'll try not to enjoy it if it makes you feel better.

Can't do every meeting and I've already stretched my quota of goodwill (both professional and personal) this year. Although Portimao used to be a great little fishing port with some excellent cafes.

Also there's no races for my car.

The only way Al, with 'home' only 35 miles from the circuit, been across that 'bay of biscuit' once too often, and always like to detour via Vila Real and remember what 'Real' race circuits were like.

We have pulled all our entries as it's one race to many and in my opinion not worth the journey when we have alternatives in France. The lack of interest is shown on this forum with few messages or hits.

I plan to be there with several cars. I think its a nice way to end the season and we plan to leave cars in Europe and do the Paul Ricard meeting 2 weeks later as well to make the travel less onerous.
