Great to see, wish I could be there to see it in the flesh, moments like this dont come around very often, especially for #01R, which is pretty much priceless and doesnt come out very often especially to hit the track of all things.
I've had the good fortune to sit behind the wheel of this magnificent racer once. At the GfoS in '98.
Just me. Behind the steeringwheel in the middle. With the doors closed...
I'll never forget that moment. I still have a picture of it were one can see me with a very silly wide grin on my face.

I'd have to dig and then digitize it for it's a paperpic. Will see if I can find the time.

Absolutely magnificent find. To me, this was the finest Le Mans 24hrs I've witnessed so far. The GT-One's, 911 GT1-98's, Panoz GTR's...

For the Panoz, view from 18:00.

John Wyer was truly one of the greatest team managers of all time if not the greatest but, he was certainly also the greatest bore of all time. I have always loved this old footage. Really neat seeing Pedro Rodriquez in a suit. Nice post!

From the same account is an upload of the first few hours of Speedvision's coverage of that year's 24 hours, been watching that and pondering 2014 when we get Porsche back against Audi and Toyota, its been too long since Le Mans had more than two manufacturers duking it out up front!

I challenge ten-tenthers to find the earliest report of the Le Mans 24 hours.

I raise you 1953, with BBC's round up of the race that year.

Just should have had more stuff like at 1:35 or the tyre flex at 3:10 ... instead of very zoomed hoods where nothing visibly moves at all.
