Any news on Ford's 2004 WRC plans ??

We hear very little about WRC on this side of the pond . Will Ford have a team in 2004 ?? Will it still be competitive ??

I suspect they'll be running in 2004 ...... with a reduced budget.

There is a rumour over here that even if Ford pull out Martin might have the fudnding from home to runa private Focus through Msport with backing from Ford. He really doesn't want to leave and is also being spoken to by Peugeot and Citroen velieve it or not.
Can't see him going to Subaru as wasn't he rather bundled out of there when he was driving with Petter, all I remember is him getting all the development parts and always retiring while all the Subaru buddies fell in love with Petter. Markko was rather left in the cold, don't think he will want that again!

Waaahhay. The WRC would really have been devalued without Ford's prescence. So Colin for Subaru then!

I don't understand why. Rovanpera has had a very lacklustre season in a very good car. If Colin had been given a car with half decent brakes I am sure he would have scored a lot more points.

I doubt that. What can Rovanpera hope to achieve? He is not a potential World Champ nor can he set up a car like a top driver.

I agree but you could also say that about McRae! I am a big fan of Colins but if he thinks a sabbatical is needed, is taking the Sub drive really the way to go?

The comments about Rovanpera from his boss at Peugeot weren't very flattering whereas the ones from Citroen about McRae were.
You have to take your chances when you get them at WRC level. AFAIK McRae tried to put a deal together but failed and he was left with a sabbatical as his only other option.
