The question is if the driver in question deserves a chance at a full season. And no I don't see Turner or Priaulx coming back anytime soon, if ever

If Ricky Collard has signed a deal, then it is not one of the open seats.

Just to confirm - if there is no driver signed to the seat, then it is still open. If a driver has signed to a seat, then it is not open.

So every time a reference is made to the open seats, then by default there is not a driver in that seat. If you read that a driver is already signed to a seat, then it is not an open seat.

I think anyone who can achieve a top 3 in the standings in both the BTCC and WTCC is not without talent

Probably not just Jac Constable in an old Astra then!

From the silhouettes they posted (assuming they are actually of the drivers) I would say the one on the left fits Jac.

Hope part of that 'big' news is someone a little more experienced in the other car.

I wouldn’t. They have history with Vauxhall and I doubt they can get anymore out of the Astra

Feels like just yesterday they announced the Astra program. I reckon they'll stay on for another year, but then that wouldn't quantify as a 'big' announcement. Find it tricky to see a top-name driver been drawn there after last year, of course it could be a title sponsor.

Or they could just announce future champion Michael Crees...

For the same reason Team Dynamics, WSR, Speedworks, Motorbase etc. have all seen improvements with new cars.
You can apply what you have learnt into the new homologation, and exploit areas where development has plateaued in the current car.
