DBR9 : for BMS (2006) and Cirtek (Spa 2005)

www.dailysportscar.com reports that BMS Scuderia Italia will represent Aston Martin in the 2006 FIA GT Championship! So it appears this will be in a works capacity which is great. Also very nice to have BMS back in FIA GT rather than the LMES. IMO.

Maybe RA will swap to the LMES with an Aston. I am sure at least one team will want to run them there.

An Aston or Corvette will be the car to have next year. The MC12 will always have a cloud over it regs wise (but as the FIA and FIAT are having a love affair, maybe all the others will be banned soon, so it can win like F1), and there is doubt how long the factory will remain interested, the 550/575 and Saleen will suffer without more development.

Yes indeed Bentley, a interesting question. However, its not been that long since the launch of the DBR9 so perhaps we will get a update soon. Would be a shame for this deal to fall through IMO.

I hope they are right Saleen, looks like its going to be the car to beat if this weekend is anything to go by. Will be a good fight in 06 when the Maseratis have their penalties lifted, im thinking we will have a 4 way fight still for race wins between the MC12, C5R, 550 and DBR9's, as the 550s are proving they are still competitve.

This had certainly been rumoured before. Will be interesting to see if it pans out, and if both the RA effort and the Convers effort swap to the Aston, or if the Ferrari is kept in the LMES for potential reliability reasons (and the fact that it's still the car to beat there).

All the FIA GT needs for next season is a Corvette C6 added to the grid and the collection will be pretty much complete.

I'm curious about the Brundle/Blundell entry aswell, maybe they'll enter the LMES?

Indeed it would, Im thinking though that GPLK will probably get the C6R first in Europe, as they do have some works backing I beleive from Corvette Europe. Perhaps in 2006?

Might be an option indeed, though I don't really think they will. They had to talk a very lot to get that C5R, nagging and nagging and lots of discussing. And without the help of Kroymans (Dutch company, european importer of Corvette and Cadillac) they wouldn't have gotten it. Will still be interesting though, as the C5R might drop down the rankings next year. There isn't anything left to develop about it, as it drives at the moment is as good as it gets, apart from improvements in the setup wich they might still be able to find as they don't have that much experience with the car yet.

Chevrolet Europe isn't involved in the Corvette. They don't even import the thing to Europe, that's what Kroymans does. And they already have his support.

Just to add that it would be in Pendragon/GM/Kroymans interest to have the C6 racing in Europe.

Aston's running this year in FIA GT please!! after Silverstone i might go bankrupt following them around Europe...superb cars!!

I wish wish wish that VAG would chuck some money at Reiter for development of the Murcialgo too!! That car showed it's potential at Valencia last year and then it was dumped!! Hey Dieter Mateschitz' has a lot of money why doesn't he buy the project!!
