Well, here it is.
Start posting what you think should be in it, rule wise etc. This is the F197 one I'm in: http://walk.to/atlas You can get a few ideas from that. When and if I get the game, I'll join up, to kick all your asses of course I wouldn't be able to run the thing, as I already have a GT2 thing I run, but mabye I could run it, it depends. I could run the series, but not do the website. I already do that for my GT2 thing, and it's a pain. So, there you go, do your worst |

I read the rules on that F1'97 series, and I like most of them. (I really like the press conferences!) I would just like to see our series be more like real-life F1, with:
- only two drivers per chassis (maximum of 22 drivers) - how would we do car selection? first-come, first served? - races longer than one lap (As one person on the Gran Turismo championship I race in put it: "Any fool can go fast for one lap." ) Maybe the races could be half or even full distance? I'd go for half-distance. - run the races on F1 off weekends? - submit via e-mail qualifying times and tire choices on Friday or Saturday - submit via e-mail race total times, pit strategy (# of stops), # of incidents or off-course excursions by Sunday night or Monday - drivers get one shot at doing race, no "do-overs"; if they retire from race, just take it and move on to the next race - full realism options, except weather, which would be chose by race administrator - points awarded like real-life F1 - and lastly, (I just want to see how you feel about this one) for each place down on the grid a driver qualifies, their race time will be penalized 0.5 sec. per position (ex.- 15th place qualifying = race time + 7.5 sec.) to simulate grid position and to make qualifying important I doubt we would even need a website for this. We could just post the results for each race here. Unless there is someone out there (or in here, whichever) that has experience and would be willing to run a website for this. What do you say? So, who's in? If you don't have the game yet, don't worry. Just let us know if you're interested. |

Basically, what we are doing is setting up a championship for the new PSX game, F1 2000. What you do is, on the date of the race, you race the particular race on your PSX, write down your times, and send them to the race administrator via e-mail. The administrator takes all the times, puts them in order, and then posts them so everyone can see how they did against the other drivers, with the winner the one with the best times. I hope this answers your questions.

I will run it for a while if you like G-R! Just tell me where I can set up a site and I'll start! The results will be posted on the Ten-Tenths site too!

I'm all for it, but I'll need more time to get my results in when I am at university, because I have limited access to a computer.

Make it so you can choose any car, anytrack. And any amount of people can use the car too.
As for race distances, doing half races etc is pretty long, I'd go for 16(is it?) lappers or something. |

Marcus, It's F1-2000 by EA Sports and NOT by Pysgnosis! It should be out there by now.

G-R, as a matter of fact, I am. I just can't get onto Kenji's board to post, since I have a Hotmail address. I wanted to get into the PTCC, but all the rides were taken. So, I'll wait for next season. BTW, that PTCC link didn't work for me when I tried it.
Minardifan, I'm in the same boat, in terms of limited computer access. So, we'll have to adjust the rules for people like us. I would like to see only two drivers per chassis. There were only 8 different people posting on the other thread about F1 2000; I'm afraid we won't have too many people, so we'd only get down to the Benetton or Sauber level of car in the selection (if there were only two per car). I think some people might take the Michael Schumacher approach and take a lesser car just to prove their skills. (I might) We'd just have to figure out how the car selection would go to keep the same people from being in the same cars. 16 laps doesn't sound so bad. I just think that the longer distances prove who can be fast without making mistakes. (Like my race in a Minardi at Melbourne last night: pole position, then three spins and two black flags for cutting chicanes, bad pit strategy, etc. but won in the last five laps.) |

Um, oh try www.anglefire.com/ri/ptcc
But really, what kind of championship will you have if people are in inferior cars. The people in the Mac and ferrari's will be the only one winning. That's why you can choose what ever car at what ever track, and any amount of people can use them. That way, it'll be the driver, not the car that decides the out come. c'mon, it's the best way. In the F197 thing, we were going to have selected cars for the whole season, but it didn't work out, that's why we went to the chose any car any where thing. Also, don't just have all races. Have one that shoot for pole etc It's much more fun. |

Jared,
also, do you have an email address at your internet provider? Use that, and once you've got the password, go into your profile and change your email to hotmail. You'll get another password at hotmail and then use that one to go back into your profile and change your password to what ever you want |

Unfortunately, I do not have a ISP, so I don't have another address. I have a computer at home, but no Internet access there. (Something about my brother looking at porn sites or something. )I have to use the computer at the lab at college. (Don't laugh.)
It's the idiots that sign up multiple times under various addresses, and do stupid stuff that ruins it for the real racing fans like myself. As I said before, having cars of various performance levels is more like real life F1, and I think it will allow the true talent to show up. Look at the old GTRC on the GT by #'s site. The Vipers would usually win, but when someone with a lot of talent came along and beat them in an inferior car, that was something. If you want to prove just how good you are, take a Jaguar or BAR or Benetton. Just imagine what we'll all be saying about someone in a Benetton winning the Grand Prix. And I don't think the cars are that unequal anyway. My best times in an Arrows are a little more than 1 sec. off of my Ferrari times. (How about everyone else's?) Heck, if it doesn't work out, we can always change the rules. BTW, with that new PTCC link, all I'm getting is something that says, "Visit these sites," showing links for dating sites. If I meet someome, I'll be sure to thank you. |
