One guy with insight (NLS-champion) said, that due to new track surface in some places around the track, especially one tyre (can't remember which one) was near damage on some cars in the 24h-race.
So it might be a problem with aggressive suspension setup vs. new track surfaces???? And yes - i think, there are different setups for different race lenghts and also differences between cars... Last edited by GusGasfuss; 31 May 2022 at 13:30. |

It's clear that the circuit might not suit these cars like the 24 hour cars. They are probably better at smoother circuits. Shame really, but it's not the end of the world. Still plenty of the season yet

If I remember correctly, there is also a separate endurance package for some of the TCR cars...at least I think I'm remembering correctly
According to Autosport, Goodyear had set 'safe' parameters for the car set-ups and they were told by the teams that the setups were even on the conservative end of the spectrum: https://www.autosport.com/wtcr/news/...sion/10314120/ |

Nurburgring scandal was the beginning of the end of WTCR. Let's face it.

The series will struggle to regain credibility after this

Not sure about that. At the end Goodyear is more to blame than WTCR.

I believe they did, but maybe to conservative? Or they don't wanted to blame the "big players" for doing wrong? Maybe Lynk&Co and Honda couldn't keep up with the Audis etc. without more aggressive suspension setup? |

I think Goodyear have done their best, but it's always going to be tricky with all the different circuits. However the question is, would any other tyre manufacturer do a better job?

I think, they don't wanted to offend the brands, which keep WTCC alive (5 cars from Lynk&Co, 4 cars from Honda), thats why they didn't control it more. And of course these brands didn't want to be uncompetitve due to suspension setup, they would have to use... |
