550 Maranello,the best Ferrari ever.!!
At $520 000 Aussie dollars it had better be good, and by all accounts it is dynamically and aesthetically one of the best.
A bit Toyota Suparish in the front but pure Ferrari in the back and engine. Some specs... 5.5ltr 48 valve quad cam V12 357kw 480hp 570Nm 0-100..4.3 0-400m..12.6 Top speed 324kph. Would suspect rear tyre to cost 1500+,it`s a 295/35/R18...that`s 1500 for one tyre. The brakes are described as almost race spec. Annual running cost might be about 8-9% of purchase price. Pure luxury,a classic shape if you ask me,and it may race at Bathurst this year...that will make Bathurst coverage bearable. |

It will be a 2 hour race, not that the Ferrari was going to be in it anyway as it is for GT-P, not Nations Cup.

Aggy, I agree that the styling is way too much Toyota Supra, but an impressive car nonethless. My all time favourite Ferrari however is still the F-40.
Snake, in terms of bang for you buck, obviously your Cobra is way in front of the Ferrari, but that doesn't make the Ferrari, slow or ****. It is far from being either. It's funny that you, an American, make the remark that traction control is for Europeans who can't drive. Most Europeans and Americans would suggest that it might be the other way around. I don't know you and I've never seen you race so i'm not directing anything at you personally, I'm just relating from my own experience here in Australia. Many Americans have come here to race and most were highly unimpressive, however even more Europeans have raced over here and so many of them were very, very good. Though of course, i'm only considering the guys at the top of the sport. I don't think anyone has ever done any scientific research to see who is better among the average Joes on the street from one continent to the next. Aggy, what sort of Torana do you drive? |

David P
My Torana is a LC with a highly developed 186-destroked to 138...for reving purposes...it has 86kw. I have defeated HSV 255kw..and BMW M3 LOL. Many years ago i had a 350 HG Monaro,i crashed it and couldn`t bear to build another one,but don`t think i can`t drive. The problem with the older V8 supercars is what i call comfort/power ratio, the Monaro didn`t have air/steer,and i used Mazda 929 seats. Look at the SS or XR8,they are like Fairmonts with handling, plus air/steer,boombox and very comfortable. Plus a decent Mon these days is 15k+,for a 30yr old car,XR8`s are 22k after 6yrs. So i would never buy one again, certainly not to cruise around in summer. As for the Ferrari,i think they have produced a classic shape, the rear end is pure Ferrari and over time i think the front will age well, plus it will take a long time to better those specs,it will be a supercar in 25yr for performance |

Good Lord....
...Koenig have done it again! 790 bhp, 755 Nm... Scary! See for yourself...
http://www.supercars.net/SDBQ?y=2001...20Twin%20Turbo BTW, have you seen the GT racing version? Glorious! The looks, the sound... Mind you, goes pretty well too (at least the one entered by Prodrive). |

Aggy, you're keen enough to retype your entire post, but I'm not keen enough to retype my reply. I'll just direct you to the duplicate thread.
