I understand the point Mick is making if he works/operates within the confines of the more modern forms of racing, sad though it is. However, this is historic racing and we should all endeavour to ensure that this never happens here and that everyone can express an opinion without any detrimental fall out. That doesn't mean we shouldn't disagree, though.

Simon, are Bernie and Max important? In the real world? Or even in our World?

Theres someone involved in Historics who can match Max in his exploits. Besides,if they are so important, how come we never see them at any of OUR events.

Coincidence but I think the guy I am thinking of is a different Phil Rowley, a director of an office supplies company from the Midlands I used to race regularly against who had two or three sons he used bring with him sometimes. He once came up to me as I was standing in the paddock at Thruxton with the parts of yet another shattered SB Chevy engine in my hands and wrote out a cheque there and then for a grand and this was years ago when a grand was indeed grand, he said go on mate you deserve it for the work you have put into the championship, just stick me a tiny company logo on the car somewhere, top man!

Sorry, but some worlds are too small, and need that 'freedom'.

Anyway, I don't hide who I am, I just have a nickname. One of several, some less publicly useable than others!

But then I've been involved in Photographic Societies, and believe me, the entrenched battle lines in there make this place seem like a nice Saturday night bar room rumble after a week on the front line at The Somme...

Given Sophie Anderton was exposed in the press (and confessed to) at £10k a night and a few years ago Eva Harzigova at a similar price (again confessed for damage limitation) I agree that sounds top doolar but you know what they say
pay peanuts get monkeys....

makes you wonder how much he pays his prepper....

I still do not understand why people use these odd names apart from Zef who should have been born with his.
Life on the Forums would be so much straightforward if people understood who was saying what .This thread shows that the vast majority have no problem with giving their name so why not use it.
Next time I have a go at Masters,Woodgood or Fake cars I don't want to have to refer back to this thread to find out who thinks I'm a prat for having those odd opinions, someone has to be out of step and whatever makes your boat float.Missing LMC and going to F O Greed I no understand!

As has been said before John, some use these names because of thier fear of being identified, like when they want to take a pop at someone and not give the true I.D.As for having a go at the various organiser's,when was that?
