Yes it is true. Jason Leffler is the fastest rookie so far in Indy 500 open tests this week. Jason is the fastest rookie at 221.125mph and fourth fastest overall while Juan Montoya is the second fastest rookie at 219.780 and 5th fastest overall. See I told you that Jason Leffler is a star of the future in a post below.

Leffler's roots are from open-wheel racing and frankly, I'm suprised he hasn't landed a permanent ride in the IRL. Perhaps if he can keep up this performance and make a good showing in May some heads will turn.

Holy smokes Joe....Do you have rocks in your head or something?
Montoya ran monday,Leffler ran Tuesday. Track conditions were different.
Almost everyone who ran Monday improved their speeds on Tuesday. Good test for Leffler but by no means a measuring stick as to who is the better driver.
As far as I know that was the first time Montoya ever ran at Indy and only his second time in an IRL car. I'm pretty sure Leffler has more time on the track as he had to go through the ROP.
Don't take this reply as a dig against Leffler. I just think you may have been comparing apples to oranges. But I will agree, at this point he is the fastest rookie at the Brickyard.

I just thought I would relay this, Jason Leffler will race in this weekend's IRL race at Las Vegas.
