Also for any single seater drivers there is still some spaces availible in the FJ/F3 race for what promises to be a great weekend of racing.

Details can be found on the links below:

Thanks

We've signed up to do the 300km race with the CSCC. This means that we are in effect racing within the German Triumph Competitions series.

I went last year as a spectator/pitcrew/helper and enjoyed it enough to join the German Triumph Competition series with the intention of doing it this year... My car won't be ready unfortunately, but it's only a few hours' drive so I might go just to watch again

If you'd care to reprise your role from last year, Jon and I will need pitcrew/helpers to get the Wolfe GT6 through the event.

We will be there for another run in our Marcos - the best event that mere mortals can do.

I will try and remember this year that the car is too low to run around the insider of the karussel and hence not ground out and spin the car at high speed with lots of cars bearing down on me...

Not so sure that the 'Banked' section is faster anyway, certainly the outside is far kinder to the car.

Not to mention your Coccyx! (Note to self - add some more padding to the race seat)

You can't question Fangio! On a trackday, years ago, I was overtaken by a Radical on the run to Karussel - but then proceeded to take him back as he went around the top. Made me smile at the time.

Going round the outside is fine when you're alone but unwise with cars behind you. I've seen sooooo many accidents there where the car on the inside has overcooked it and got spat out straight into the side or in front of a car on the outside.

There's always the exception Moose, one of the manufacturer's 'records' was recorded by one guy who used the outside line.

Indeed Terry, though I never said it was any faster (or slower)

Must admit I'm not exactly keen on the corner either way you take it but its part of the track and I would not want to see it changed.

Accomodation

I had planned to be there but plans have changed and won't be able to make it.

It's too late for me to cancel the hotel booking without paying a full cancellation fee, so if there's anyone out there who still needs accommodation June 17th through 20th please feel free to PM me, maybe we can work something out.

Hotel is very reasonably priced (seems to be a B&B nothing fancy) and about 15km (20 minutes according to GoogleMaps) from the Ring. Double room.

Does anyone know what happened to the driver in the white porsche who crashed very heavily towards the end - we saw his car covered with a tarpaulin later by the scrutineering bay and it looked a real mess.

Was this the second car to hit the barriers after the kink under the bridge on the back straight? There were two huge "offs" here within the space of a lap at the end of the race resulting in a crawling pace down that section of the track which is usually flat out. Sorry don't know how the driver's were after this.
