kristof14 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Good News For UK F1 Viewers!

In a deal announced today 7 rounds of the BTCC will be shown directly after F1 qualifying. This is good for both championships as it will attract fans of each to a new form of racing. Bernie is thought to have been heavily involved in this and is said to be very chuffed!

I used to have school on Saturday mornings; still do. But now I don't have so many lessons I usually finish in time for qualifying.

The problem with VCRs is you cannot rely on the programmes being on time! I can see the scenario already, delays in F1 practice, will BTCC coverage be shortened or abandoned? I have a VCR with PDC,but this only works on analogue terrestial, not digital.

The BTCC coverage will be delayed a week .... that's a long time to avoid radio and papers if u don't want top see the result!
but if F1 qual does run late they can just shorten the coverage or miss it out altogether if it's going to clash with Coronation Street or something vital

So you set the VCR for the start of F1 qualifying and then let it run for three hours...Honestly!

Part of the old BBC deal was that they should not show BTCC races at the same time as live televised motorsport (ie, f1 qualifying or race) and yet, by the sound of it, ITV is planning to show BTCC directly opposite LIVE F3000!

I think you will find that the F3000 race is at least one hour after F1 qualifying, therefore there is no interference.

Have to say I had forgotten F3000 for a moment. What paradise, F1 qualifying, BTCC, F3000 one after the other. I have this sneaky feeling that my wife is going to divorce me soon?

True, there is usually about an hour between the two, but ITV's qualifying show usually runs for 15 mins after the end of the session and coverage of F3000 usually begins 30 minutes before the start of the race. That leaves them a full 15 minutes to show the BTCC without some sort of interference.

Cheers AJ. It would be better to get divorced, sit on my own and watch motor racing all day instead of the housework...paradise lol
