Video camera mount

Does anyone have any experience of rigging up a camcorder in their car for track use? Is there some kit that can be bought which fixes the camera securely so that it does not become a projectile in an accident?

Hi pharmboy, and welcome to the forum!

I think this thread may help you out.
http://tentenths.com/forum/showthrea...ghlight=camera

It was discussed in the 'Racers' area of Ten Tenths, but the info is still useful for Trackdays.

4Kam on board camera

I've just got a purpose made on-board camera from http://www.4Kam.com. Its really good for mounting externally in interesting places like behind the wheel arch etc.

It's a good quality camera with 520 tvl and comes with a bunch of stuff including a separate mic which is handy and it costs less than £100.

Anyway if you ever wanted an on board cam then I recommend it. Good service and cracking value for money.

Try a CMOS Camera from www.dogcamsport.co.uk. Very cheap and surprisingly good quality - although their bullet cameras are much better.

as far as I'm aware, you must have the device fitted before scrutineer as if it was in use. But I'm not aware of any cases where they have caused a car to fail.
