storyline should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
So what did Marcus Marshall get up to?

Part of a press release just released by Team Australia:

Quote:
STATEMENT REGARDING TEAM AUSTRALIA

Today it has been decided to terminate the agreement between Marcus Marshall and WPS because of certain breaches. Consequently Marcus Marshall will no longer be driving for Team Australia in the Champ Car World Series.

The breaches were serious and substantial and occurred before the Surfers Paradise event.

Given the significance of the Surfers Paradise event to Champ Car, Queensland and Australia, there was a resolve to defer all decisions until after the Surfers Paradise race. This allowed time for proper consideration of all the circumstances.

After careful consideration of the breaches it was unanimously agreed to by all team owners (Craig Gore, Derrick Walker, John Fish) to terminate Marcus Marshall’s driver and sponsorship agreement effective immediately.

It is disappointing for all concerned, however the breaches were considered incapable of being remedied by all team owners.

Given the termination and the form and nature of the agreement, no further comments can be made.
Further statements in the release call for any referrals or queries to be taken straight to Brett Murray at BAM Media.

The interesting part is that this didn;t come from Team Australia's distribution list either - it came directly from BAM Media's list.

Thinking a bit more about this (and the statement that the 'indiscretion'(s) happened before Surfers - it sheds a bit more light on the Will Power contract.

That's not 'part' of the release, it's the whole thing ...Just in case people were wondering if you left anything out.

It's part of the release - not allowed to publish entire releases here - I'm just being prudent.

It takes a special type of person to fit into the WPS way of things.

in an interview with David Besnard about 12 months ago he revealed that he was under contractual obligation to maintain a certain weight and not to get on the soup too often amongst other weird and wonderful things, so it wouldnt surprise me if all marcos did was had a couple of beers with some mates at a strip club - who wouldnt being an international race car driver at Surfers??

I wouldnt last 30 seconds with WPS

Gore was quoted once as saying something along the lines of 'we pay our drivers well, but they have certain things they must live up to in the contract'.
