Gerard should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Grand Prix World is not a racing game, but a managament simulation.
It is based on actual data from the teams, the drivers, the team managers, the sponsors and even the fuel suppliers.
Your career as a team manager starts in 1968.
You choose the team you want to work for and start of by co-ordinating the test sessions.
Another one of your jobs is to negociate with sponsors, prepare the cars and the drivers for the next race and ofcourse take care of the cash flow.
You are also able to develop different driving aids, and start working on next year's car.
You can even get involved in industrional espionage.
During qualifying and the race, the screen is divided into 4 TV channels, on which you can see how your drivers are doing, watch a live TV broadcasting, look at all kind of statistics and keep an eye on the data in a graphical form.
What I liked very much is that the designers used original formula one screenage on which the ingame graphics are projected, so it looks like your viewing the actual tracks.
During the sessions you can direct your drivers through radio transmission.
I also found the artificial intelligence of the game very acceptable.
When you're doing fine it will reflect on your employers. The other way around, when your mechanics tell you they can't handle the job, you better hire new personal or there performance will drop.
I think this is one of the most realistic management simulations about formula one.
As with most games in this genre, graphics and sound are not 100%, but gameplay fine.
And remember, to get the full potential out of the game, you need at least a P200 with 64 Mb ram and a 3D card.
You also need 250 Mb of free HD space.
I like the game and it will certainly provide me with hours of fun.
