Touring Cars

who agree's that 2 door cars should be allowed in touring cars. An Alfa 147 or a peugeot 306/406 or an astra don't really look like a touring car, good to see the FIA has said that the ETC cars must be 4.2 metre's minimum

Touring cars should be four doors

While the 2 door cars like the Astra look OK, the new MG looks more like what a touring car should.

Besides, if you require 4 doors you don't get sportscars like 911s (Trans Am 2 liter Sedans in the late sixties) or Mazda RX-7 2+2s (early eighties BTCC) let in because just because they have back seats.

While I do like the fact that the ETCC matches up with BTCC rules, I am glad that 4 door cars will be required.

i dont think they look that bad, only 10 cm off last year?
if manufactuers want to have 4 door let 'em, if they want 2 door let 'em!

best of both worlds

Maybe the New Vauxhall Vectra will be here in the future, if RW changes the rules more like ETCC

ALRIGHT!! This narrow minded fan since '95 is really happy and excited the ETC will require the 4.2m rule which favours sedans over hatchbacks. I think hatchbacks should be left to junior(lower racing series) and any rallying. But when it comes to the "BTCC" or the "top racing" series, it should be a coupe at the least, if not full 4 door sedans!! yyeaahhh. Now let me run and get my fire retardent suit in cases the flames start coming!!

Coupes (like 911 and F360) should preferably in the GT class!

What's with the 4-door obsession? Those old Super Touring rep-mobiles just looked like taxis!!! Anyway, the Laguna and 96-00 Mondeos were hatchbacks.

I reckon the manufacturers should run whatever they want.

If Vauxhall want to enter the new-shape Vectra in the future, then they can. No rule changes would be required. There is no MAXIMUM length... only a MINIMUM.
