How many do you have working for you? I had that situation recently, one person off sick. Looks bad when I say 50%, not so much when I say 1.
I spent a day in a van with that lad, two days later he phoned in sick. Fingers crossed I'm a living testament to the power of the vaccines. Sent from my AC2003 using Tapatalk |

Problem there, Max, is that many double jabbed do get infected but have no noticeable symptoms. This is why my local hospital is insisting that all patients going in to have pre-arranged procedures or tests have to have a proper Covid test a couple of days prior to arriving, and must isolate between the test and the day of the appointment. I know this because I had to undergo a series of test a couple of weeks ago over a few days, all prior to my surgeon being able to commit to completing last year's operation. Thankfully, subject to a pathology report from some biopsies taken, it will take place some time in the future, but unfortunately the surgeon found some more damage that has to be removed when I go back under the knife. Oh, deep joy. |

People may find this interesting.
https://assets.publishing.service.go...rt-week-42.pdf Week 43 should be available soon. Pages 13, 14 and 15, especially the last 2 columns of the tables presented, are especially interesting. |

Before going for a third jab, I asked my doc' to check what has changed since my last blood test if any change. He recommends to buy an artificial respirator to get rid of sleep apneas. Sounds like a good idea, I'll have one next week. May be the reason of some unforseeable lack of energy resides in apneas.

Asking for a good friend's son in need to do an internship: is next CMS of Birmingham worth to have some connections if well prepared before?
By the way, John, any contact to recommend in your former company (Ethel)? Anyone going to Silverstone for the BRSCC test day? |

Gerard, it is 42 years since I worked for Lotus! I think any contacts I had will have long retired.
You don't say what sort of apprenticeship your friend is looking for, whether on the production car side or racing. If racing, then Clive Chapman is the man. On the production side, Lotus Engineering is a booming business, now with lots of money from the Chinese. It is very much an international business too, with centres in the UK, USA & China. They can be contacted via the Lotus website. |

This story is cut and paste from FB, j saw it floating around a few days back. I completed the survey and forgot about it so haven't posted here before. I don't know if this is a credible threat but you never know.
"If you read the Classic Car Weekly you may of seen a article about the department of transport wanting to effectively outlaw "tampering" or as we would call it modifications of vehicles on UK roads, not only would be make it very hard to keep classics on the roads it would also kill off many specialist companies over night "To have your say on it you can respond to the governments proposals here: https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/ETVHG5/ "It may be a slog to get through but its well worth responding negatively to it and hoping they take notice" Sent from my AC2003 using Tapatalk |

I just don't see what the government is trying to achieve by trying to introduce this. Yes we should look to the future, but I think people should be allowed to drive cars from the past on the road, as long as they are safe and all that

Hopefully you can use your experience to tune your car just right Delta. Those young upstarts probably don’t yet have the technical nous you guys have picked up over the years

If what Terence says about juvenile drivers is correct, perhaps you will be able to protest them all on use of track limits & you & Rudolf can wind-up first & second (order to be determined between your selves!).

Just had a look and waded through the questionnaire....I can see the need for regulation future automated vehicles and their control systems, particularly to ensure they are resistant to any "hacking" which could allow systems to be compromised, but I hav estressed the need not to "gold-plate" to adversely affect the classic and motorsport community. |

Mind you I think some of those 16 years-old drivers on the list have been attending the Hayes for several decades, on and off. I would be tempted to attend if it were not for being committed to a family weekend in West Wales that makes it impossible. (Unless Drakeford shuts Wales in the next few days.) |
