Nice to see the PC guys are running SLOWER qualify times then the GTLM...should make for a mess of the beginning of the race Saturday.
Just get this PC junk off the track already! |

When I wrote it they were behind the Fords with 4 minutes left in their qualifying session...only 2 PC cars ahead of the GTLM's...what happened to the other 3?

Mazda was slower than the Roar times. How about Hartley in the ESM doing a 1:37.6? That's some of his first laps in the car and considering the newish car itself, that's damn close to the Cadillac!

So, Cadillacs beat the next quickest car by 2/10ths of a second - hardly what I'd call the "unfair advantage" so many thought they were hiding at the Roar.
Seems clear that pretty much everyone was holding back close to the same amounts of speed during the Roar, with the Cadillacs having only the tiniest bit more than the others and only the Mazdas being notably slower. Everything's within the capacity for a car's setup or driver to make up or lose the difference. I'm liking what I'm seeing - IMSA's got a decent, thoguh still imperfect, balance going. It should be anybody's race - reliability will almost certainly be more important than speed. Also, given that the fastest car at the Roar couldn't participate, I can't help but wonder if the front row would look different if they had.
