BTW, there's a rumor that one privateer wants to run a Mercedes-Benz DTM car in GT500. Then again, I feel that it won't work as even for a spec Nippon Racing Engine, they won't do well much like in 2009 when a privateer run an Aston Martin in that class.

Yeah, but you know that was just a DBR9 GT1, it was more powerful, but just couldn't stand against overall GT500 better aero and chassis.
As far I know, mercedes is leaving DTM to join formula-e, so they won't develope the turbo 4L 2L as bmw and audi are developing (perhaps.... because even this is quite unclear). So even if DTM and SGT share basic aero rules, an old NA 4L V8 powered mercedes DTM would get a 120-150hp deficit compared to japanese cars.

Mercedes will never allow one of their DTM cars to race in Super GT500. It won't be competitive in any way tho.

The problem is that there will be a development freeze on those Inline-4 engines for the DTM side, so a Japanese privateer team will be in a disadvantage as they don't know how to tune a bespoke engine.

That applies if they brought a Mercedes-Benz DTM car in GT500.

In the article, they complains that the speed of MC car is cheat.
And they also complained about no tire change strategy of MC car.

From a driver standpoint it would be really frustrating, because you don't have any kind of control of the situation. You can't outrun them no matter what you do, you just have to pray that the rest of the field happens to pit at the right time to get them stuck in traffic. Same issue in reverse for the guys driving the mother chassis car though.

NOB Taniguchi says that he ran total 210 laps at Motegi by Yokohama's private tire test (2 days).
It includes 4 sets long stints. It seems that Yokohama is ready for Motegi round.
