@ThePieMan

I've had tickets come through, but thought I'd cancelled a long time ago! I'll send 'em back tomorrow.

Sorry,
Al.

Still not sure if I'll be there yet. Other commitments may take priority.

As I'm coming from the North downwards, if I end up on the M25 I'll have completely gone the wrong way at some point!!!! So, thanks for the advice but I really don't intend to use it!

Hello all,

I can't wait to marshal my 1st evening race. Though I'm not arriving till 1pm due to coming back from my holiday friday evening. So I doubt I will be able to get up for the 7.30am sign in. I'm there Sunday too. Going to be one busy weekend.......

Had a good time at the Britcar 500 yesterday. Was a great race with the top3 running close at the end. Shame about the penalty to the #10 Porsche, whatever that was for. Had a bit of rain, which gave us a few moments at Copse-#47 Aston span & ended up straddling the track as cars swerved around him & the eventual winner span in sympathy, ending up facing the wrong way! Good banter on post, as usual. Look forward to the 24 hours next year, and sampling one of Alan's famous pies!!

Well what an awsome 3 days of racing we had at Silverstone this weekend. Even the shower of rain last night added to the atmosphere. Only thing that spoilt it was the Marshal in the tent next to mine. He will know who he is if he reads this. Getting out your tent & slamming your car door at least 5 times, and talking on your phone outside my tent. Some people, honestly.

Roll on next year. Lets hope its the FULL 24HRS!!!! Then I wont have to go to bed.

Thanks to everybody at Ped Bridge for a great weekend. And thanks to all for looking after Bill in my absence (222 miles round trip to get there and the funeral lasted 15 mins!).

I realised on Saturday that this was the first time in all the years the 24hrs has run that I've actually seen any end-to-end racing!

Hopefully, next year's will be the full 24 hrs and the PieLady will return!

Not much to do at Chapel Inside (unlike Brooklands!), but some good racing to watch in the main event and the bigger grids on Sunday. First time I've been on post at night and I'd be quite happy to do it again.

A big thank you from the BRSCC to everybody who supported the event. I'm glad to see that you enjoyed it.

Please contact me with any feedback you have while things are still fresh in our minds (or regarding any torches or tabards that we failed to collect from you).

Hello,

Heard it was good on Saturday. I was meant to be there but my flight was delayed on Friday so was unable to sign in sat during the day.

Made it on Sunday. Was in the centre of Luffield which was interesting. Though I'm still dissapointed that I missed out on Sat!.

Also like to point out that the convoy with Walkie/Talkie system worked well on the way home (as we ended up in two cars). I had overtaken Bill on the M6, got onto the toll road with absolutely nothing behind me and wondered where the heck he was! Quick W/T call and it turned out I'd missed him going past me (how, in the PostmanPat van, I don't know - it is a little distinctive) and he was way up ahead!

Wonder if they do you for using Walkie/Talkies - but then again most mobile phone users seem to get away with it?

I seem to recall that walkie talkies and things like them are not considered the same as mobile phones and that they can be used whilst driving, but my info could well be out of date, so don't quote me on that!

The Walkie Talkies have proved themselves over and over again in various situations. If you're a couple then I suggest getting them (but do apply some patience).

No pulling over last night, so now the three weeks or so to wait for the letter through the door.............

Two-way radios/walkie talkies are not covered by this offence but other devices for sending or receiving data are included if they are held while driving, i.e a PDA, Blackberry or similar device
There is however still grounds for being pulled for driving without due care and attention.

Walkie Talkies are great though, just remember that they're not a secure network, and other people can use the same channels and interfere with your communications.

A big thanks to all on Brooklands Friday and Saturday and especialy those in surrounding posts for assistance in our minor oil spill during the night race where car after car just spun. Pity I couldn't be on post on Sunday but agrivating an injury I am carrying on Saturday night I decided not to chance anything.
A big thanks also to my fellow Scotts all the banter helped pass the cold windy weekend and my tent survived unlike many others.

This is my second visit to Silverstone the last being last years Britcar 24Hr race funny thing was we had a large oil spill at Stowe any one see a pattern developing here lol.

Once again thanks to those at Brooklands for a fun and busy weekend and look forward to next year when I hope more of us Scotts venture south.
