GP2 Singapore
Palmer heads practice, from Leimer and Ericsson, with Rossi looking quick in 4th. Calado, Bird and Nasr in 6th, 7th and 8th respectively, Coletti in an impressive 24th, just ahead of the winner of the last race, Adrian Quaife-Hobbs.
Debutant Raimondo is 26th and last. Interestingly the 2 winners of the 2 GP2 races staged at Singapore previously (Chilton, van der Garde) both graduated to F1 for the following season. Have fun. |

What is going on with Coletti? This is one of the worst second half season slumps ever
Nasr and Leimer were quick here last year so expect the same again. Bird hasn't raced in Singapore before so will be interesting to see how much if a disadvantage it is |

During red flag period in Q, the top 2 = Leimer, Nasr
This could be fun. |

Palmer on pole from Nasr, Leimer and Rossi. Calado 8th, with Ericsson between him and Bird, with Coletti just behind in 11th.

i think the coletti question needs to be asked the other way around. how on earth did he have such a strong first part of the season? what on earth was everyone else up to?

While Coletti will never be an F1 driver, I don't agree you can discredit the first half of his season. He genuinely was one of the quickest and most consistent men out there and did a great job adapting his style so as not to kill the tyres. For someone who's been around as long as he has he shouldn't be scrapping for the odd point. My guess would be that Rapax dropped the ball somewhere on the engineering side.

Nasr still can't win, but takes P2 from Palmer, after leading practically the whole race. Calado is the last man on the podium. Leimer finished P5 after Richelmi passed him late. Bird passed Clos for P8, and therefore starts R2 from pole. Coletti nowhere.

Those tires...
Nasr not happy. Usually one of the best at taking care of tires, but his tires went to hell in a hurry. It's fishy how Palmer was that much faster. |

Guess it would of helped Nasr if he didn't flat spot his tyre early in his stint, in the end he ended up wearing the flat spot to the canvas due to locking up so often.

Wonderful move by Nasr on Lancaster. Lancaster just shortcuts the track to keep the place. Utter carp.

Nasr having gearbox problems, he's currently 18th. Bird leads but Ericsson is catching.

Bird takes R2 from Ericsson and Leimer, who then hits Rossi on the slow down lap! Rossi ahead was told to go into the support race paddock, but was on the far side of the track, with Leimer on the inside and, when Rossi turned across, had nowhere to go. Seems that the American needs to bring his eyes along to the Abu Dhabi finale!

In the podium room (whatever it's called),
Sam Bird: Who got fastest lap? Marcus Ericsson: Ericsson. Sam Bird: Really? He's quite good. |

Leimer vs Bird for the title in a season where nobody could make an entire season count then.

Bird has a better car. Does he know how to handle the pressure from the British media?
They say we only run from the things that truly scare us. Last edited by Stephen Green; 22 Sep 2013 at 20:52. |

Nasr still has an outside shot, and you never know, the way this season has panned out! But my money is on Leimer, in a year where I doubt anyone will get into a current points-scoring F1 seat next season.

I doubt that either Leimer or Bird will end up with any F1 seat! May be Nasr with the bank's millions, but who else?
