1996 Autosport

Does anyone have a copy of Autosport probably dated September (or early October) 1996.

There should be a report of a CanAm/Interserie/vintage/historic race at Most. I think it was Most!

Anyway the article had a 2/3 double page spread of a great clour photo of the track featuring three CanAm cars belonging to friends of mine from the US (Bud, Craig and Kirt Bennett).

I always kicked myself for not saving the issue and for not getting a glossy copy of the pic.

Can anyone identify the issue and page number? And does anyone know if AS can produce glossy pics from so far back?

Thx - Derek

Drek,

I don't now have Autosport after 1980.
Hoever I have dealt with the LAT Archive (Haymarket/Autosport's photgraphic collection)
If you e-mail Kathy Ager, their picture researcher at Kathy.Ager@Haynet.com with the details she should be able to identify the photo for you. Be warned that LAT are not cheap, but I have always found them very helpful.

I've got a loft like that too. It should be easy if it were all sorted instead of dumped in a random heap. I'll definitely have the mag up there, though, if all else fails.

The October 3 issue of Autosport has a small (100x50) photo of the Bennetts at Brno. It's on page 88.

DL said "...trouble is I keep reading articles and get sidetracked..." I understand - been there - done that.

Milan. Thx. You're right it was Brno - memory lapse on my part. Was there "a 2/3 double page spread of a great colour photo of the track" at the start of the article? Memory tells me it was a great sweep of track from top right across to middle left and back to bottom centre. Maybe it didn't actually mention their names. Thx for the reference anyhow.

I should have turned the page before posting.

On page 90/91 there is a report on the race and a much larger photo of Bud Bennett leading the pack through a downhill s-bend.

That's the one. Thank you my friend - p90/91 of the 3 Oct 1996 issue. Now to find out how many millions LAT/Haymarket/Autosport want to get me a glossy of it.
