I'm afraid this will ever be a fictional track. The island is a nature reserve, and from my girlfirend, who works in the area I've heard that the whole region is going crazy because of a dozen or so windmill that will be erected nearby....

Tortoise's 12 Tracks of Christmas - Day 1

Went through my archive of unreleased tracks and realised that most of them aren't that bad and should have been put up here. So I am going to be releasing a track each day until Christmas to try and get a bit more activity onto this sub forum.

Bray Racing Circuit, Co. Wicklow, Ireland

A Grade 2 circuit based on the east coast of Ireland.
Full Circuit 3.01mi | National 2.21mi | Paddock 0.99mi | All Anti-clockwise | Track width 13m |

Good idea, I might do the same!

I'm not sure about turns 5, 6, 7 of the full circuit, but I like the flow of the track if you follow the turn 3 shortcut. The long fast corners onto the main and back straights are great!

I've been out of my design groove some lately, but some of these last ones certainly look interesting. That Munich course could be a fun one.

I wasn't sure where to put this, but there is a new track database site being built up. It still has quite a few gaps, but they're slowly getting filled in. I've left some comments, and a few bits of information for the operator.

Here's the address:

Day 3 - Grand Prix of Winnipeg

Was going to alternate between permanent and street tracks each day but didn't have enough time to finish today's permanent track and don't want to rush it so in true Blue Peter fashion; here's something I made earlier.

T1 hairpin ....Yikes, they rarely if ever result in good clean starts.

There is no obvious way around it, even with a long run into it that just means longer for the drivers to delay putting their foot on the brakes.

I'm not a fan of street circuits so take the above with that in mind.

Just saying, an extended pitlane and you have a proper SSEC Designer Challenge contender with Tiengemeten Motorsports Island Full Endurance.

The main pit lane already has 475m of garages, longer than any F1 track.

Doesn't look it, but LMP1/SSP1's are 1.9m wide x about 2x the length of the car for the garage x 72 cars maximum= 273.6m so well clear.

Stockholm Formula E Circuit

A temporary circuit in the Ladugårdsgärdet area of Stockholm, Sweden. The 1.63mi/2.62km track id designed to host FIA Formula E and has been made using existing roads and widened paths throughout the park, meaning only the barriers, garages and stands are temporary. The track is also suitable to host national series such as STCC.

Forrestburn Racing Circuit

During the mid 90's, plans were put forward to construct an international standard racing circuit near Forrestburn Reservoir, a few miles east of Glasgow, Scotland. Six different designs had been made, each containing different layouts and ideas. However in 1997 the project had stalled and was not taken any further.

This is my re-imagining of the circuit, using modern design techniques and safety standards. It uses the land south of the reservoir to aid access to the track and the M8 motorway. The track has been designed to Grade 1 standards meaning it can host any FIA championship including Formula 1. Corners have also been named after retired Scottish racing drivers and riders.

More on the original Forrestburn Circuit

Forrestburn could have been an amazing circuit. Whether it would have been financial success I have no idea.

I like your reworking of the concept keeping it all on the Motorway side which not only would it give itself the publicity of being seen also the relative ease of adding it's own perhaps pair of junctions allowing as much traffic flow as possible.

Can't we just have the oval around the stadium instead, for an international IndyCar race maybe? ;-)

Does 1-2 look like a flat mirror image of Sepang 1-2, or is it just my perspective?

Also, not sure how well an IndyCar would take T10-11.

I really like the idea of the airfield, as you know I've done several in the past.

My only real issue with the design is that the pit exit is onto the racing line
