actually i added it there for overtaking exactly what i wanted I thought the "flowing" chicane would slow down momentum a bit too much, besides as i said I think it creates a better possibly the best overtaking spot on the track ! BUT hey each to there own ! otherwise the world would be a pretty boring place! Not saying martins track is crap or anything just an idea that popped into my head while reading over

I think a bus stop type of chicane would best enhance the overtaking opportunity.
The flow of the original Troyes is gorgeous, but it's indeed hard to overtake there (ground effect would be strongly recommended ;-) |

Cheers for the comments guys, it's been sitting on my external disk for ages. I like the idea of altering the chicane for passing, I think if the circuit was to be proposed as a real project, then it'd boost it's case from an overtaking perspective.
From a design perspective though, I like the original. |

I like this one. Classic shape yet modern at the same time. Nice little stadium infield section too

I'm not fond of it. Only the last corner is a bit of a challenge. May be a good circuit for exiting racing though.

Looks like an airfield circuit with those long straights. Is that what you see it as?
I like the blot shape. It's not your very best but I still think it's quite good |

Burnstone is kind of like what Aida should have been. In the blot shape, I can see some similarities to Norisring, though, which is OK.

Hi folks,
Martin liked the graphics of one of my track designs and asked me to apply the same technique with one of his. I hope he won't be upset to find that I took liberty in creating all his track designs he showed us in this thread not only the one he asked me to. bio |

I looove the original Troyes, Shedden for me would be a fast touring car circuit, Burnstone has an interesting shape, sort of like a butcher's knife with part of the blade missing but great nonetheless, the new Niki Lauda track, the one without the oval, is great nd it would work well both directions. Kudos from TW!

looks nice and clean,my only critisism would be that I'd be waisting the left part of my tires,since most turns are on the same side.Looks like a mighty spectacular F1 track though.

Well, Luiggi, the bikers face the same problem at the Sachsenring and they can manage it somehow Though I can certainly see why oval racing isn't a hit for bikes |

This is Wolston, a reasonably old design I don't believe I've posted here before;
Circuit length would be roughly 4 miles. Built in a similar sort of location to Cadwell Park, Wolston, has all the rise, falls and beautiful scenery you'd expect from that kind of circuit. The drivers start just after the kink in the main straight and race on uphill through the Esses. This circuit is a high speed circuit with few obvious overtaking spots so, naturally, mistakes here go severely punished. After the continuing climb through the Esses the ascent stunts for a moment, with the road actually dipping slightly before almost suddenly beginning to rapidly climb again as they head towards the highest point of the circuit at Peak. It's then back downhill through The Spine which kind of looks like Eau Rouge in reverse before dipping further into Forster, a corner which almost sits inside it's own bowl such is the descent there. Out again through Tears, pronounced 'Tairs' and onto the backstretch. The backstretch is a flat out burst, drivers top 180 mph here and it's perfect for slipstreaming. You'd come to almost not want the straight to end as the road bends violently right into the tricky Stanton which preludes another short climb on the way up to Carvell. The Stanton/Carvell section is the slowest part on the entire course. The circuit rises yet more after Carvell as drivers bump their way up to Mays, a tricky multiple apex corner. You'll then find yourself back onto the curved main straight, ready for another ballsy lap. Last edited by shambles; 30 Jul 2008 at 21:23. |

Sorry Sham, I couldn't post my look-alike track last weekend. I had other commitments at the time.

Wolson looks great, especially with the added text.
