Oh dear! I added the last 3 non 'professionals' to make up the 10.I did say single seaters.Sadly Lella Lombardi is no longer living-a victim of cancer some years ago.

Very flattering to be included in the list but mine would be as follows for drivers who are curently (ish) competing & feature as current top ten, in no particular order

Danica Patrick
Sarah Fisher
Louise Aitken-Walker
Michele Mouton
Divina Galica
Susie Stoddart
Katherine Legge
Vanina Ickx
Liz Halliday
Desire Wilson
Jutta Kleinschmidt
Lilian Bryner
Claudia Hurtgen
Shirley Muldowney
- yes i know his is more than 10 but someone is bound not to make it

Invitees/Hall of Fame
Maria Teresa de Filippis
Giovanna Amati
Pat Moss-Carlsson (forgive me I'm not sure if she is still around?)
Lyn St James
Janet Guthrie
Ellen Lohr
Natalie Goodwin
Phoebe Rolt
Gabriel Konig
Christabel Carlisle
Joy Rainey
Christine Beckers - Le Mans class winner
Cathy Muller

i've tried to stick to drivers who have had success at International level.

Best female driver

I always rated Janet McPherson. I remember seeing her in her McClaren at Aintree, boy was I impressed. She also raced Minis in national championship. Had the good fortune to meet up with Janet recently as she is doing a lot of work with Sporting Bears charity.
