No they don't have a front diffuser they have a front spoiler with an undertray. I think that diffusers are illegal in v8s? (anyone confirm this)

I found a video of last weekend action as Mark Winterbottom hits a drainage grill. You can see wideo here:
http://www.geocities.com/formula_1tk..._inncident.wmv

You can see 2 vertical strakes on the front part of underbody /near big cut/ which looks like are part of teh front diffuser.

Is the shape of the front wing kinda like a diffuser though? Like it's flat, then has these angled up sections.

Are we getting our terminologies messed up here?

I thought a diffuser was used at the rear of a vehicle, taking the air from underneath it, from an undertray, or just as it flows beneath the car, and channel the air in functional directions.

With that as the underlying premise, the front section wouldnt strictly speaking be a diffuser, more a channeling device for the air coming over the top of the wing to go thru the radiators, or brake ducts, to then force the flow under the car to be diffused at the rear....

Front diffusers are using by le man prototypes like AUDI R8.
It works like a rear diffuser but it lokates in front of the front wheels and exit
on the both sides over front wheels.

I would still have thought of it as an undertray rather than a diffuser....

but without over complicating things..
yes.
the undertray of the front bumper assembly lifts at the rear, in similar design to a rear diffuser, with the same effect.
