totally agree Ayse, for all those people who pop into Tenths but not sure about what sort of people do post here, we are actually quite nice and friendly.

It also shows that there is a lot of knowledge and help 'lurking' which could well be very useful!

Yes, and to show how nice and friendly we are, we will set restrictors on the bottlenecks. Seriously, there is fruit juice for those who don't drink alcohol. |

Probably should mention that me and wewantourdarbyback will be there to make our meeting debut. Doing our bit for the younger demographic.
Really thought we'd run into a few of you at the weekend but we'll catch you at the main event. |

Providing that my space is reserved on the pit-straight and all is sorted with the ACO enclosure by that point, I would love to join you all, about time I made my face known

We start at 12.00 but seem to last longer each year as the numbers seem to beincreasing, right by the track so you can see what ever support events they put on while talking to like minded people.

I might just show up half an hour early, just in case I'm not the only one doing so.

I am coming from Australia for my first ever LM so it would be nice to meet some of you guys hopefully I can find the "village"at around 1200 on the 22nd.
Important question from a Le Mans virgin - what breed of beer do they sell at the track and is it expensive? |

At the circuit there are many outlets selling cold beer in plastic beakers, you pay 1 euro for the cup and about 6 or 7 euro's for half a litre of mostly kronenbourg i seem to remember. There is also a guinness stand and some french brown beers available. However plenty of supermarkets around and bars within easy walking distance. At the meet on Saturday the wine is provided by local members and is very good

As Champcarman is coming all the way from Australia, I don't think he'll bring a fridge or a coolbox in his handluggage. Getting warm bottles from the supermarket might not be an option in his case. Beer at the track is bloody expensive though, I agree with you on that.

Cold beer is OK for some but bitter is meant for those that enjoy the taste and should be drunk at room temperature not ice cold, but the modern way is for beer to get colder and colder to avoid people finding out that the processed mass produced stuff has little or no taste at all

"The other myth is that English beer is served at room temperature, or “warm”. It’s not. It is served at cellar temperature, which is between 12-14C. Room temperature is 21C. That’s a big difference. "

Vince have you ever been to England, it is cold here and if the temperate ever gets into double figures we get out the shorts and sun glasses, but yes you are partially right cellar temperature is more normal, although at beer festivals and in some traditional pubs the beer is served direct (gravity feed) from the barrels stored behind the bar so hence room temperature.

At festivals it is usually a make-shift Heath Robinson kind of affair, so it's understandable that the beer gets served outside its optimum temperature range, although it shouldn't of course. Pub land lords don't have that excuse, so I don't see any reason whatsoever why they rob their customers of the best beer experience possible.
