All free-to-air stations are fairly hopeless with their coverage of motorsport in general. Makes me happy that at least I get the bikes on FOX.

David Murdoch - I know this may be a stupid question but is he somehow related to Rupert or is it just coincidence?

You're right though, gomick, he is a bit of a ******.

Personally I rather just listen to Toby and Julien..
Listening to these blokes is just like listening to Alan Jones and BIG Daryl EASTLAKE (who its the absolute pits) rabbit on before we get THE REAL deal.
Why Bother? I'd rather hear the guys that are going to call the race talking about the riders on the grid rather then some voice-over from someone on the otherside of the world, who knows as little (or normally less) as me.

Anyone remember when Keith used to be with Julian. I remember listening to those two do the Superbikes and the 125cc/250cc races. They were absolutely brilliant.

That was back in about 1996-97.

yeah, but the whole series was being called the 500s, not Barros' bike

and it being 500cc doesnt make it a Minardi

Yes I agree to bring back Warren Smith, he is electric. However Murdoch tries and that is all you can ask of the guy. Superbikes on Fox, "thats tops"
Sportswatch is alo a good show, I'm happy that they make a commitment to talk to riders live when the timing permits asin Sugo a little while ago.

Yep, and i agree, FOX Sports should show us more of her, maybe show her and listen to the riders instead of the other way around.

We don't get Toby & Julian this year in MotoGP, we get Nick Harris, Dennis Noyd and some other bloke, and the commentary, apart from Nick Harris, is nothing special.

I reckon Charlie Cox is getting better as the year goes though, better than Leigh Diffey.

Anyone know the last name of the Keith partnership that used to be with Julian Ryder?

I'm going to see if I can find any tapes I have of those two. Absolutely brilliant.

Racer, completely agree about the commentary that we get for MotoGP this year.

Keith Heuwen, spelt something like that. both he and julian were great in the box, they always managed to keep the race exciting the whole way through, always using exitable commentary (couldn't think of another way to say it), apart from warren and magee in 2000, commentary has been the poorer since they went at the end of '99.

Did you see during the World superbikes from Monza and Sugo on fox sports, during the break between the supersports and superbikes race 2, they have been showing classic races, at sugo they showed hockenheim race 2 1997, and at monza they had monza race 2 1996, after the AMA Superbikes, with Keith and Julian commentating. Apart from david Murdoch, the fox sports motorbike shows are awesome.

Yep, I always make sure to stay for the older races with Keith and Julian. I really can't believe they broke up that partnership. Oh well...

I remember when they also used to do the World Motorcycle Championship races as well. They went positively barmy during the 125cc races, but it was marvellous to listen to.

bring back Keith and Julian!!!!

I watched for cable coverage for the first time this year.. cant beleive how different it is without the toby and jules partnership, they were pretty good (even Randy Mamola was bareable) now it all seemed like it was on Valium compared to last year.
Did I meantion slow... stuff happened and it would take em 30 sec. to comment on it.

hmm...

Absolutely agree, Toby and Jules (let's not forget Randy!)are just about the only ones worth watching (listening?) on Eurosport. I wasn't home on Sunday, so I asked a friend to tape the races for me. It was only afterwards that I realized (to my horror!) that he watches his Eurosport IN GERMAN! I don't have a problem with the language, but the commentary is just INCOMPARABLE!
